You can add a dab of TWC-3 two-stroke oil when filling up with gas. In my experience, it takes until the second fill up to notice the decrease in noise.

I used a couple squirts of an eye dropper per tank. After a while, it gets annoying to do this, so it's just a matter of trading one annoyance for another.

E85 was quieter for me in the beginning, but not with my current pump. Never did try adding the two-stroke oil with E85, though...

3,000 miles without crickets on an MY14, just noticed them today. Well my wife did since I'm half deaf. Still no solution?

Nothing.
You will get al sorts of "this works for me" comments but nothing works for everybody.
I have had them once for one tank of gas on my 14 but that may be because I got it late in the year and it wasn't that hot out and there is certainly a correlation between temperature and chirps.
Do not bother changing the pump as it will just happen again anyway and our14s already have the latest version of the pump to start with. I don't think they will ever "fix" it as it is not really a problem just an annoyance.

Try different brand of gas by ur house. I was putting in Shell like ppl suggest, but the crickets were strong with shell. Chevron makes mine quiet. I always like chevron more then any other brand of gas thou. Seem to make my engine run smooth with better power? At least I only put chevron in my CRV so highway merge didn't feel like I need to murder something while doing it.

I'm not real picky, usually use Shell or Sunoco but I've run all sorts and it doesn't seem to matter.

Next...

I also use chevron, found that it'll reduce the crickets on short drives (around 10-20 minutes of driving until crickets are heard) if im not pushing the car.
must be all that techron they put in their fuel!

For Grins and Giggles, plus because I'm almost out of the 60K warranty, I took mine in a couple of weeks ago and had the TSB done. Mind you I didn't really think I had crickets.

I ended up with all the new equipment (the TSB bill was $1,600, as they first presented me the wrong copy) but to me the engine sounds exactly the same.

I figure, worse case, I got a new fuel pump.

guys i think i solved the issue! the part that you need to replace is the vechicle. when you replace the vehicle for another one the crickets go away!!

on a serious note i think we should just give up on the issue. toyota wont do anything.
