This one was definitely too tight. I noticed it when the car was here on the dyno and remarked about it, but we were out of time for the day so I couldn't get to it, and he was going to do it when he got home. I think this happened a couple of days afterwards.

We are seeing this frequently with the MX5 and the BRZ who do their own installs: DO NOT over-tighten the cogged belts. They don't need a ton of force like the v belts do, and if you start to hear the blower bearings whine that means you have it way too tight. You should be able to deflect the belt easily by hand a 1/2" or so at its longest run. This belt does not tolerate any stretch unlike the v-belts that do so normally.

Just for the community:

Vbelts have to be tight because the rely on friction to transfer power. That tension puts a lot of extra wear on the bearings and really isn't good for anything. Cogged belts don't need that tension and as Mike said, don't like it. They rely on the physical interaction of the cogs and gear teeth.

I went with a remote tune with Mike @moto-east and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! He was absolutely wonderful to work with and got my car running mean! He even helped me through a problem I had one time with bad gas. Overall, just a great experience with him. 10/10 would tune with him again!

I'm currently in the tuning process now with @moto-mike and the car is already running great and we're not even done yet!
He's been helping me out since day one with my NA tune and there's a reason I'm a repeat customer. Great service... Great product!

+1.

remote tuning with HRI didn't work out well, local with Mike went like a charm.

There are people running Jackson Racing tunes on KW kits?

Interesting... though I suppose there's no reason why that wouldn't work.

MAF is in a different location. Reason enough right there.
I think he meant Moto-East is tuning his Jackson kit.

Update on my car, finished the tune and picked up 20 more hp, did 326 on a mustang dyno on e85 high boost pulley and full bolts on. Very happy with the power level, seems perfect.

I've done a lot of reading but still cant find an exact answer, so here it goes. Im looking to purchase the c30 kit with a tune included. Is the out of the box tune safe? i understand i will probably sacrifice some power for reliability with the tune from kraftwerks. But will my car run like factory? Will i get similar mpg providing i keep my driving habits the same as now?

Can't speak for the MPG because I've never bothered to monitor it but I've been on their canned tune for about 6,000 miles with no issues.

I still want a custom tune though, I just need to find the time to get to the tuner.
