@KraftWerks you were right. They're cogged.
The smooth pulleys must be crazy loud!
Thanks for your help!

Check your belt tension, what Hz did it come in at?
If the belt is too tight, it can cause the added noise.

Beyond that, the noise will most certainly have increased over the OE but the system is more quiet overall than most of the screw-type chargers out there.

If this is the case, what is the consensus on the OFT in the meantime? Is this just a waste of money?

Yes. The kits come with an ECUTek tune so unless you can sell the OFT for what you paid it's worthless. That's just my opinion though.

You can usually sell it for $50-$100 less than retail pretty easily.

How difficult is this kit to install for a 'noob' who isn't a mechanic? I am used to modding and adding things to cars, etc. and have experience building computers...should I be getting a shop to install this kit or is it basically plug & play?

I haven't ever done a big mod like a supercharger before. But this kraftwerks kit was very well put together and quite easy to put in.

If I remember correctly all the tools you need come in the basic "92 piece mechanics tool kit" or whatever you can buy from Lowes. I had a very experienced mechanic friend who helped me install the kit. But in all honesty, he was just an extra pair of hands. There wasn't any of his "experience" that was needed when it came to installing it.

Thanks for the encouraging words. What did you do for your tune? Or do you simply just apply the included tune from Ecutek?

I bought my kit used, so I was on my own for getting a tune. That said, I knew all along that I wanted to get a custom tune for my car. Cause that's the biggest differentiantor, I've heard, with these engines lasting a long time or blowing up.

I went with a remote tune with Mike @moto-east and COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! He was absolutely wonderful to work with and got my car running mean! He even helped me through a problem I had one time with bad gas. Overall, just a great experience with him. 10/10 would tune with him again!

The instructions seem pretty straight forward and there is plenty of available resources online to help you out. My recommendation is to 1) Take it slow 2) Read 2x, 3x, 4x if you question anything 3) Save the beers till after its installed and your initial test run

I keep hearing great things about Moto-East. If they can remote tune, that is likely the route I will take. Thanks!
