Late to the party, but the most disappointing car I've ever driven was a 350z convertible back when they first hit the market. That thing was like sitting in a hollowed out cast iron pig. Visibility sucked, and it felt like it has hips wider than the 10 frwy in both directions. Horrible sports car.

I drove a 350z, a Genesis Coupe and an RX-8 before testing the FR-S. The 350 didn't feel comfortable and I felt like I couldn't really see out of it. The Genesis was cool and everything, but I just felt underwhelmed while driving it. The RX-8, I could have lived with, but the maintenance schedule wasn't for me. I work on the road for 24 days, then I'm home for 4. Being that I still live at home with my parents because of my work circumstances and they'd be driving the car (My dad has a 2006 Dakota which is a pig on gas, and my mom leases her vehicles so sometimes she drives the other cars in the house to keep the mileage down) I didn't exactly trust them to be regularly checking the oil and stuff.

Ultimately, the FR-S won me over. It's such a damn comfortable car, I can see out of it well, when I drive on a twisty road, I'm grinning ear to ear and I feel like it's going to be more reliable in the long run. Really glad I ended up going with it. Underpowered? I'd disagree. More fun to drive a slower car fast, then a fast car slow.

This is the hsv version which I gueasnis it the equivalent to the sti in that the intake, exhaust, tune and serval other components are different aswell as the wheels, body kit, and a bunch of other features are different aswell.

I think they simplify the car even more when they send it over there as Chevy
The factory is only 20kms from place

Agree to disagree.

The chevy SS uses an ls3 and not the the 6 litre. It has the brembo brakes and magnetic ride.

Different I agree. Simplified? Disagree there.

It isn't supercharged like the Holden you purchased though.

The previous gen Mustang that just was replaced. I expected acceleration, fury, and fun. All I got was a good exhaust note with the V8. The V6 auto convertible was punishingly bad. The seats were uncomfortable. The doors are so high, it's hard to see out. The dash and controls are hideous looking and hard to use. I was underwhelmed by the Coyote 5.0 engine.

I've driven worse cars, far worse cars, but I've never been so disappointed.

As for the FR-S, you'd have to totally ignore everything written about the car to be disappointed. It's EXACTLY what all the car mags said. Tail happy, small, light, moderately powered, loud, and fun. On the street and track, it's exactly what I was told to expect, down to the decimal point. Love it or hate it, how can you be disappointed? Idiots.

Yeah I used to own a 350z and agree, the seating position and visibility were poor. Very noticeable jumping between that and the FR-S, where the seating position and visibility are particularly good.

Ours is called the ls3 aswell. 6.2L
Our supercharged version is called an lsa

We also have the magnetic suspension however it is an option not a standard

5.0L 11-14 Mustang

Seems slower than numbers would lead to believe. Maybe because the stock exhaust is quiet and suspension soft, numbing the experience considerably. I guess it is more of a pony/grand tourer type car though. Also it sort of tumbled through turns. It was decently flat, but a numb feeling in that regard. No feeling of rotating the car unless of course you added throttle.

Whereas my WRX is loud, makes chu chu sounds, makes every bump on the road known, so it has that "spice" to it.

I was going to say 350z, now I'll say the first STI I really got to drive enough to get a feel for it...

Everyone was always like "oh wow, STI's are so fast!" and my normally aspirated Impreza was slow, but I always kept up with the big boys just fine. Finally getting to test drive an STI on my own and ring it out, I realized that the power wasn't anything more than the Forester turbo that I drove quite often (family car) and my GC Impreza was a much better platform for everything else.

Thats probably why I would up with the BRZ, because its the platform that I recognize as being the important aspect of the car and not the engine.

Maybe the Aston Martin V8 Vantage or the G37xS.
The BRZ was one of the more positively surprising cars I've driven.

I'd love to toss an SR20VET into an FRS shell. Would be a blast.
S13 SR20 is 200
S14 is 220
S15 is 250

All in all not much difference between each. S13 I would say is actually still the best one to buy because of how much cheaper it is than the others. People will still pay ridiculous money just to have an s15 SR w/6spd.

T28 turbo and VTC they added when they started using the newer blacktop with the intro of the s14 made a good bump in torque.

SRs are pretty damn awesome. S15 T28 turbo with injectors, midmount i/c, and exhaust will pull like 280whp with super fast spool. Awesome spot for a fun street car. Or add a 2871 with cams and exhaust manifold with a decent tune and you're sitting at the mid 300whp mark.

Shame the FA20 takes so much to get to that without the worries of it grenading.
