Has anyone used this rear seat delete kit?

http://www.rearseatdelete.com/FRS-BRZ.html

I looked through some old threads but didn't find any mention of anyone actually purchasing or installing it.

Looks good, price is right (that Seibon looks out of place and is horrendously expensive).

I don't have kids and we are getting a dog, so I thought this would be a better option than getting fur all in the seats and potentially tearing them up when I have to take him somewhere.

I know I could lay the seats down, but I like the look and it drops the weight of the car a touch.

ABS plastic... I don't think this will bear any load.

I emailed the guys at rearseatdelete.com, here is the answer I received:

"The weight capacity depends on where you place the weight. It’s strongest in the center over the trans tunnel where it could hold 150 lbs, but out towards the edges it can’t hold as much, so if you can keep your dog in the center, he’d be fine."

There are a couple of threads on this. One actually asked the exact same question.
I had two dogs with a combined weight of about 150 pounds back there. I took out the divider so they could spread out. I did cheat while the dogs were back there and temporarily put some reinforcement under the leading edge of the seat but they were fine for a two hour trip.

If you are good with wood you can fab up your own rear seat delete. I made one that weighs 12 lbs less than stock (seat bottoms and backs) and can support my weight (~150 lbs). Below are pictures of it installed. The carpeting material I picked up from Pep Boys was nearly identical. It's a little darker initially, but over time as it wears it blends in well. Best part is people think it's stock.

Also looking on info on any plywood or other diy kits. I have a 60 lb and 30 lb dog that apparently are not going to do well with the schrader kit.

Your dogs won't easily get into the back seat anyways... You going to remove your partner seat?

My 11 year old overweight lab got in and out with no problem.
Although, now that I think about it, he got in by going over the passenger seat and hanging a left at the center console. My armrest probably helped out there.

Nice work.
The only advantage the kit has is that it is split and lifts up to turn the space where the seat bottom was into hidden storage.
