Seems like I'm right,. There has been no useful replies after you disclosed your relationship status.

About 80% of the ones before that were not useful either as they just kept repeating what the prior comments were, with slightly different wording.
Pretty sure many people don't even read the previous replies in most threads as it is pretty common.
How many times does saying "look on internet", "read a book" or "just ask" need to be repeated?

Let's try and get back on track.

First question, what are your goals for the car? This will really start you down one of two paths.

1. Daily driver that you want to look nice.

The first thing most would change are the wheels. There are a TON of options here depending on what your tastes are. Your best bet here is to go through the wheel directory post so you can see what other people put on their cars or just head to one of the online wheel sites and look at what they have. Be prepared to be disillusioned with the number of possible options.

After that there are things like front lips, trunk spoilers, etc. Again, all of these will come down to preference. There is no "right" when it comes to looks. The only exception is hellaflush. That's just wrong.

Since you are in NYC and the roads are terrible, you probably aren't going to lower your car.

2. You would like to try some performance driving, track or autox, with your car.

This is an area with many more options.

If you are a beginner, the best thing to do is to take your car out completely stock to a few events. Even stock the car is capable of going a lot faster than you have the skills to handle, so don't spend any money yet.

Once you've got some time under your belt, you need to decide how much time and effort and money you are willing to spend to support a higher performance car.

Some things are do once (more or less) and then replace them when they break or wear out. These are things like lowering springs or coilovers, performance tires, upgraded fluids (brake, transmission, differential), bushings, headers, changing camber, etc.

If you want to up the power significantly then you will need either a super charger or turbo charger. These are both expensive, come with the risk of blowing the engine, and depending on how much power you add, potentially require upgrades to other components (transmission, clutch, engine cooling).

If this is the route you want to go, the Track/HPDE forum is the place to start reading.

Again, if your car is dual purpose, like many of us here, then your choices will have to be a compromise between driving it around town and hitting the track.

It was supposed to be a daily driver but I didn't really need/have a chance to drive it much at all shortly after getting the vehicle due to certain circumstances. Yes, I was looking into changing the wheels but there are so many options I feel. Options with the design as well as the different sets of measurements (I really need to read up on that because that alone seems like a ton of information.). Then I was thinking the spoiler but I just wanted one that didn't "stand out". That's just my preference though. Are there any sites where you can "photoshop" wheels onto the FR-S so you can see what it may look like prior to purchasing? I DID want to lower my car JUST a little bit but as of now, it's ALMOST scraping the driveway when pulling in so I'm just leaving it as is for now. I wasn't really looking much into the performance driving, track because I'm afraid of crashing it. Drifting looks fun though!

Oh, and something completely random. Are you supposed to report to your insurance when you change things on the car? I know people don't because they don't want their rates increasing...

Well, you don't *have* to, but it never hurts to ask. If it compromises the safety of the vehicle, I would leave it undeclared. However, if you want whatever nice wheels you get replaced in the event of an accident, then I would reccomend asking about "Aftermarket" coverage. I was able to purchase $5k worth of coverage for an extra couple dollars per month on my previous car.

The tirerack wheel selector will let you see the wheel on the car. Since you are DD'ing the car, I'd go for an 18" wheel. It looks much better than a 17" IMHO. As far as width and offset, most of the sites will auto select a size that fits since you aren't going to be adjusting the camber for the track.

The TRD style or other duckbill spoilers tend to be the most subtle. The best option here is to look at the spoiler threads here to see one you like.

Tirerack is not bad for wheel "preview".
This is Tirerack's rendering of an FR-S with the wheels I've got:
