I plan to install the trd push start button, are you interested in that mod? I hate scratching my key against the plastic near the keyhole because i make many many short trips in a week.

I had a push start before so I welcome back to the conventional way of starting my car. Also I won't leave m keys in the car.

You say you're going 85-90 on the highway, what does the instantaneous mpg readout say at those speeds? With 29.5 tank average, are you braking much? Thanks!

Mainly freeway, but I still have to travel on the street. Whenever I see a turn I keep it 4k RPM like that my redline. When the honeymoon phase goes through I do expect to see better MPG, but I don't see that anytime soon...

Ah, okay. Instantaneous highway readout? Do you have that, or is the gauge not set? Sorry to ask again lol.

I just ran the numbers again actually, using CdA of about 5 sq-ft (Porsche 911 is around there), and actually the engine efficiency is quite good, if 29.5 comes from kinda mixed driving. The first gen Prius engine at the same specific torque output level operates at 29% efficiency, and if you're getting 29.5, then I'd guess that your highway cruising is around 30 depending on speed, which would indicate an engine efficiency of around 29% as well. Seeing how this is at rather high speeds, I think the mpg might be a bit disappointing at 65mph since the gears are too short to give the engine much load.

I'm fairly sure the TRD button is just that: a button. It won't do any good for someone with an FR-S since it lacks keyless start.

wait seriously? i havent looked too much into it but i guess it makes sense since they may not bring it to the US, so how do i truly install a push start button? is the keyless entry a PIA system to install?

Installing the factory keyless system would require a different keyless ECU, different door handles, the button, and possibly more. It'd be a serious endeavor. You'd want the parts from a wrecked 86 or BRZ limited.

Edit: To add to what I said above, the door handles would need to be from/for a LHD car since the driver's side handle has a keyhole and the passenger side handle does not.

It could just be because it's new. A lot of people were disappointed with the new 2012 impreza fuel economy when they first got them but once the engine was broken in it went up.

I may have missed this in another thread, but is there a maintinence guide that they gave you with the car? Are you supposed to change the oil after the 1k mile break-in? Or just every 3,750 miles?

I just came back from dropping off my car. I did very conservative (70 MPH freeway and 2k RPM with city driving) driving and I average 39 MPG and it was very hard to drive like a granny.

Because they serve a purpose and aren't even designed for OEM dampers....
