Congrats PekingDuck! Can't wait to see more of your car here. It's nice to see pics of the car out and about, rather than at a photoshoot!

would have been better off just getting coilovers in the first place.
On some cars the drop is 50 mm (2 inches) and that's a lot.
It's ok for track use with modified or aftermarket dampers.
On others car the pro-kit don't drop enough, typical case the car in my avatar (10mm drop with pro-kit, 30mm drop with sportlines, spot on for fast road use with Koni sport dampers)

Usually the pro-kit are the best springs around, if you want to go lower just pick a KW or Bilstein coilover kit, as high spec as your budget is. Just avoid the non-stainless steel ones.

I agree with your analysis of the sportlines. I've had the prokit on my Eclipse and I loved it.

The second tank was mainly freeway 220 miles, with about 29.5MPG, with mainly freeway driving at 85-90 miles per hour cruising. The range on the car I can see is limited, but for the higher rate of speed i travel on freeway I think it very fuel efficient.

Just curious, how many miles did the dealer put on the car before they handed the keys over? Nice drop and great choice on color by the way!
It had about 20 Miles, but I test drove and Jeff had to move the car around a lot.

I am not sure on alarm yet, and front license plate I was thinking about getting a custom bracket.

Thank you.
Since my height is 6'1 my visibility is very good. My wife had a hard time seeing over the front because she is 5'4. The seat is adjustable so you should be able to fine your sweet spot. I drove modified cars before so harshness on ride is nothing to me, but the ride is firm. The cabin itself is not well insulated from noise from what the car makes or outside just outside noise.

My wife is big on audio performance on the cars and she said the bass hit hard, but the position of the speakers seem to be an after thought compared to other cars. As for me I have never been particular about sound system, because most of the time I pull out the audio for weight saving and just listen to my headphone.

Preproduction part, and it was sponsorship/testfit. I will campaigning the car is various event.

Peckingduck.. Can you offer a direct comparison to the s2k in the future? I owned a GPW AP2 for 8 months, and did not fancy the engine.. This was no 400hp Ferrari, it was a 240hp Honda that only felt like 240hp above 6k.. The gap in hp/tq was a shame.. The s2k is truly an acquired taste.

I would really like to know if the Scion has more legroom than the Honda. Drive safe!

-BobDigi

I think overall the s2000 is a better driver cars, but for daily living the FRS is a far better car. I think the legroom is the same, but width of the car is more in the FRS. Getting in and out of the car I think the FRS is harder. The shifter comparing the two the S2000 has a more direct feel to it.

Where was the fuel marker when you filled up? Was the light on?

You should be getting at least 100 miles more on that tank given your MPG.

Plus that's some fast highway cruising speed! I think I average about 65-70.

That will be the hardest thing for me to get used to with the car. My last DD had a range of 500 miles. Of course, it was at 18MPG so I'll still smile when I fill up the FR-S.

Good to see you're enjoying your new ride! (Is it 5/15 yet? No, URRGH)

I been cruising at 70 because my DD right now is horrible on gas. So anything that drives fast with similar fuel consumption is more then welcome. I filled up both times at the 1/4 marker, the light never came on, and the tank is a very small both times I filled up below 9 gallons.

Thanks to PD for all your responses! I do have a question that I've been wondering about -- does the FR-S have automatically controlled headlights? In other words, is there an "AUTO" setting on the switch where they are controlled by a light sensor?

The BRZ has that feature, per the online owners manual, but that may be different due to it having the HIDs. The "features" section of the FR-S website is silent about this.

Thanks again!

Sorry, your mpg number is very intriguing to me since I just messed around a little with the ecomodder.com calculator...it seems a tiny bit low.

You say you're going 85-90 on the highway, what does the instantaneous mpg readout say at those speeds? With 29.5 tank average, are you braking much? Thanks!

That is how i felt when it when the date was coming closer. I hope you like attention when you drive, because cars will stay on your blindspot because they don;t know better, just to look at your car.

I think fuel consumption wise it very good, but I don;t know after breakin....

Hey Pekingduck, thanks for the continuous update, I've been enjoying every bit since your car is exactly the same as mine will be. I almost feel like it's my car

I plan to install the trd push start button, are you interested in that mod? I hate scratching my key against the plastic near the keyhole because i make many many short trips in a week.

There is daytime running, but I don't think there is an auto light feature on the car. I think I have a semi preproduction model, because my owners manual say there suppose to be eyeglass holder on the roof, but nothing there.
