^^^I think this is correct. The prokit is usually something like a 1.5 inch drop, and the Sportlines (aka "StrutKillers") are something like a 2 inch drop.

I've had two buddies blow their oem struts within weeks after installing the sportlines...I don't know why Eibach still offers them

Funny statement you made there, since Eibach is the OEM for TRD springs on at least a few vehicles.

Because they're not for use with oem struts. Companies make aftermarket struts that are compatible.

I think what he meant is that the pro kit springs usually have a higher spring rate than the sportlines. The sportlines are usually much too low of a spring rate for the drop that they offer which results in a poor handling ride. They are all for looks and comfort, not performance.

The problem is that was not specified in Eibach's literature or marketing details, so my buddies paid the price.

Further, aftermarket struts are probably still some time away...even the TRD stuff won't be out for a while.

It is funny I would say that for two reasons: 1) I had no idea that was the case 2) and comparing pics of the Eibach and TRD springs on the FR-S, the former looks a good deal lower and almost a bit too low for my liking. I'll have to get more info and see more comparo pics to see what's really going on.

EDIT: seeing the whole sport line vs. pro kit comparo duck's car is def sport line. That thing is slammed. And if Eibach makes the TRD springs that's def pro kit.

Which TRD springs are talking? If you're talking about Jack's black FR-S, don't bother, cuz that's not TRD lower springs

What happens when you drop your car is very much like wearing a helmet that's too big for you. It's not something that can be done with any taste whatsoever. We thank Peking Duck for the demonstration, but no thanks!!!!

Lol

Alright Peking, don't leave us hanging here. You're the only person in the country with an frs. Need more input, pics, vids, and questions in this thread answered.

Congratulation and good review.

About the Eibach springs:

Pro-kit (black) are progressive springs, drop is between 20 an 35mm depending on the car, and designed to work with the stock dampers without destroying them. Comfort is usually the same or close to the stock suspensions thanks to the progressive rate.

Sportline (red) are linear rate springs, drop is between 30 and 50 mm, and they need shortened and revalved dampers or sport dampers. They work extremely well with Bilstein B8s or Koni sports (yellow, adjustable compression on top). They are quite firm!

Honestly, if you had your FR-S, what would you do on a nice weekend? Talk with strangers on the interwebs or drive your brand new car around for fun and go see friends and family?
