I'm back on 93 now. I just checked again and the washer seems a little loose. Not sure if it happened while I was tugging on it earlier, but I'm going to torque it down when I get home.

I'm still on e85. Had to jump my car this morning as well, and even using about a 1:9 ratio of e85 to gas, I had to crank the car over a ton of times this morning to finally get it to start. The battery was only good for about two full cranks before it wouldn't turn over anymore. I'm thinking about going to 93 when this tank is out as well just to give me the best chance to get moving in the morning.

I checked the terminals and added the washers yesterday, and it didn't really help. One common thread I'm seeing here is aftermarket stereo. I noticed that pulling the fuse helped get one extra crank in this morning, but that really still wouldn't have been enough.

I'm thinking about running a trickle charger on an extension cord through the night. I've ordered an odyssey battery to replace the starter battery but I've gotta get through this week first, as it won't come in until Friday.

About 15 minutes of 6 amp charging and it weakly started. Need to figure out what's going on as I can't be charging everytime it gets below freezing.

I don't have an aftermarket stereo.

In the meantime, this is what happened to the city an hour west of me: http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.s...ke_effect.html I can't wait to get out of the NE.

I don't have the phantom, but I do have an OFT tune with ignition cranking tables that I tweaked myself and I am planning on running e85 straight through winter like I did last year. It is currently a first try start at 35°F in the morning, and the worst it ever has been is a two try start in the single digits.

Neither do I, although I do have the sub hooked up. I'm unhooking it completely overnight to see what happens.

Any chance you could point to a how-to for this? I have trouble starting even when it's not very cold.

When I say aftermarket stereo I'm primarily referring to subs or amped speakers. Headunit shouldn't matter.

If it really does come down to the battery you can always disconnect your 1.5 conversion and run a bigger starter battery. This is what I did last year.... Its weird because @Bu-Tang has been using the little battery and hasn't had any problems yet.

I'm pretty sure it started in below -10C which is colder than what you guys would experience.

I'll let butang chime in to see if he has been having trouble.

No specific how-to, but:

Start Here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67310

Check this post which is linked in the first post of the thread above: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=40

Or this one just above that in the same post: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...21#post1444921

For further help, here is a copy of my current ROM. You can try copying the tables I have in mine.:

That is based on the 1.42 ROM but the cranking tables are the important part and have my revisions.

It was 15F here last night. That's about -10C. That's really cold for this time of year (it's supposed to be in the 50s again in a couple days), but it's not unheard of. Last winter was particularly bad and temps got below 0F a couple nights.

If it continues to be an issue with the Amp unplugged, it's going to be a little frustrating because when I raised the issue back in the spring before purchasing, everyone that responded assured me it wouldn't be an issue... but hey, every car and battery are different, I suppose.

These batteries in -15 will perform just like the factory battery.

Gary had it sit in cold weather multiple times and it worked, and I think Bu-tang is running a audio system on it.

Trust me its fine.
Guess I shoulda pushed for that money back guarantee. LOL.

I'll figure it out.
