Ok, this past weekend was my first real experience with the BRZ in snow conditions.
I must say, I'm more than a little choked by the electronic nanny. I was hoping to have so much fun with it, but no matter how I press the buttons to turn the electronic aids off, they still kick in to some degree, and saps any enjoyment I thought I would have with it. =/

Does anyone in town offer a permanent solution to turning the nanny OFF completely? Like install a switch so I can flick it on or off at will?

If you don't get Nokians, I'd recommend a good set of Dunlops!
I don't find Nokians to be worth any premium over other quality tires. Pirelli Sottozero are the best performance winters I can currently get (IMO) and I used to love the old Hankook W300 Icebears wear amazing.

Do some reading and you will find how to defeat it properly.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. I watched the video of the "pedal dance", and I can't imagine having to do this every time I jump in the car...that's insane! LOL

However, I'm going to try the pressing/holding the TC button for 3-seconds and see how the car responds after that. I'm hoping it's good enough.

But if anyone knows a shop that can rewire the car and provide a switch that can turn it on/off, that would be ideal.

Thanks!

Talked to Kyle at SpecR and he was awesome. Good advice and competitive pricing. Looking forward to dealing with him again.

None that I know of. Only thing thing I've seen is holding the trac off for 5 secs or pedal dance

I wouldn't want to start messing with wiring, you will void some warranty real quick.

Somewhere on this forum is a thread showing you a means to return your nannies to their prior settings before ignition kill. Check it out. There may be a way to switch between settings on the fly.

Loving my hakka 7's in the snow and ice so far, definitely worth the money I think. The car is so much fun in the snow! shutting all the TC off makes it so much more enjoyable to drive it around town.

Did you get the studded ones ? And did you go stock size?
I just pulled the pin on hakka 8's studded for my beater for the ski runs. Getting them installed on Tuesday.

Yeah I got the studded ones and went with the same as stock tires size. So far so good this winter!
