I appreciate all the insightful comments.
I don't know about the banana idea. Seems a bit impractical.

Yeah I tried the Rom Raider solution but I'm an old dog and can't learn new tricks. I was not born into the digital age as many on this forum were. When I was born the highest technology was vacuum tubes. Tuning to me involves a timing light and a screwdriver.

But the bottom line is this. I've been using this approach for over a week now and it works. Haven't had any issues at all.

I start the car with it in reverse and the second it fires start backing out the driveway, otherwise I wake everyone on the block.

I live in a part of Canada that goes well below freezing in the winter, and I don't "warm up my car" other than waiting about 2 seconds for the oil light to go off. How about you just get in your car, turn the key, and drive it out?

I was born into the transistor age, but I get what you're saying. Since you invested in the OFT, you might as well take advantage of it. You've already taken care of the hard part. Do you know which OFT tune you're currently on and for which CALID? If so, I'd be happy to tweak the tune file for you and send it over.

WOW you can do that? See how technotarded I am?
The tune I am currently on is the V2.01 Beta OFH+ESC with 1.5 Dump Pack Upgrade. The 93 octane version. I switch between the 93 oct and E85 versions. I'm not sure what a CALID is but under the Information Tab on the OFT it says: ESC 93 oct. A00C.bin HW Version 0100 SW Version 0131.
Does this mean anything to you?

I do this as well and haven't gotten any complaints in my townhouse community. It's only loud for about 1-2 seconds before I'm backing it out and the noise level drops substantially.

Yep. I'll take a look at my copy of this tune file and see what I can do.

Push the car out of the garage and start it outside. I do it whenever I don't want to risk waking up my kids at night.

I know a few tuners have been able to completely eliminate the high rpm cold start. My car included, even on E85.

@WNDSRFR PM me your e-mail address when you get a chance, I have your E85 and 93 tunes tweaked to eliminate the cold start. If anyone else has an OFT (or other Rom Raider compatible flashing method) and isn't comfortable editing their files in Rom Raider, let me know and I'll give you a hand as well. No need to build these exhaust blocking contraptions when you have the technology to circumvent the cold start to begin with!
