Well that's what you want to see, I'm assuming that's based on the initial pulley that comes with the kit?

It's also nice to see a vendor gather that kind of information, I haven't seen it from anyone else... I have a dual temp gauge I was going to use but I don't have a way to datalog it really, just show a difference between inlet and outlet on a display.

Interesting, it would be nice to see a graph with multiple pulls in a row as the temp does start to spike once it gets to 5.5-6Krpm.

If the cosworth kit gets a CARB EO #, then I'm in.

Am I understanding that correctly - with the Cosworth 2.0, you'd have to use an aftermarket impact beam to get the maximum efficiency of the intercooler?

Based on what I've seen, yes.

The height of the heat exchanger is similar to that of the FMIC in the Greddy turbo kit, although the hoses go around to the side, not through the top.

That's disappointing, but I suppose there really wasn't any other way Thanks, though!

Awesome! The Jackson is at the top of my list right now but it's always good to have more options.

CSG is not too far from me, I'll definitely touch base with you guys before buying. Thanks for all that you guys do for our community.

nothing to stop you running it with the standard cross beam though?

You won't have full utilization of the intercooler. I wouldn't feel comfortable running Cosworth's tune that's optimized for a fully exposed IC. More importantly, if you were tuning outside of Cosworth's specs (say, to up to power output), you may not be able to go as high.

It'd basically be paying for something that doesn't get utilized. Waste of money, imo.

I wouldn't worry about that, I've seen the Cosworth development car its running a standard crash beam - looks to me like they used all the available space to maximise thermal inertia as well as cooling - after all the stock rad is partially blanked by the crash beam too

so if you do run a aftermarket beam then you'll get better cooling as bonus

Interesting. I wonder why they decided to swap to the aftermarket crash beam then.

After my last F/I car, the only thing holding me back from boosting the FR-S is longevity. There's a reason you see so many people listing their cars FS a few months after they've boosted it.

I suspect the rallysport car on the cosworth stand is a show car with lots of nice bits on it, after all its not cosworth's car , it just has the cosworth kit on it as they are a cosworth vendor

and yes you make an interesting point about long term longevity, I suspect most folks whack on a FI kit and go for broke without thinking just how long the stock bottom end will last

I'd hope that Cosworth have considered this with this kit, hence why the boost is pegged much lower than what the charger is capable of to help keep the stock bottom end alive

A lot is working against this car's ability to be FI; the whole drivetrain should be considered, not just the motor.

The high compression FA20 doesn't warrant great results boosted without getting into the guts with some lower compression, forged internals, and whatnot
