Right now the BRZ/GT86 seems ludicrously reliable from assistance figures due to the fact the breakdown is <5 or >5 years old so it's hard to get a feel for the cars until they've been about for 4 years or more. |

I'm talking about here in the U.S. where there are 10 cars for every one in England...England doesn't even have enough cars on the road to be considered a comparable sample size Besides the Aygo (not sold here) is a joint thing with Peugeot or someone of that sort...of course it's going to have problems...derp |

Sorry doesn't work like that! When I last looked at pan-europe data you're talking within a 0.25% variance for UK figures.

If you say that there are different conditions in the US which will change the reliability factor of a vehicle then you may be able to make a case. After all, you get different engines in the US compared to Europe on some models. However the sample size is a load of BS, the UK market is more than big enough to give the same data quality as you'd get from a 10x larger sample.

My cars in the last few years:
84 Toyota Supra 85 Toyota Supra 84 Cressida 89 Supra 99 Solara (still have this one) NEVER had a mechanical problem on those cars other than a water pump and O2 sensors that are both considered consumable. I only bought the BRZ because I considered it "mostly" toyota, and they still dont have a US replacement for the Supra. |

I'm a Subaru fanboy but I've owned 9 of them and never had a mechanical issue that wasn't self-inflicted. |

I've owned 5+ Subarus in the last 9yrs... I put all of them under harsh conditions and heavily modified(done right). Subarus aren't the cars to have if you want efficient and reliable performance(when making power). I'll never own something with a subaru boxer engine again... Hell... Only 4 cylinders I'll ever even just think about using are a k series, 3s, or "later" 4g63's

I don't understand the mindset behind the posts in this thread. If the engine is such an unreliable piece of shit the way some of you are talking, why in the holy hell did you buy one? "Hey, have you seen this new shitbox FR-S? I gotta have me one o'them. Lemme see if I can scrap together $30K to waste on it so I'll have something to endlessly bitch about." |

Also, I purchased my frs literally for the chassis. I intended on purchasing this car well before anyone knew what kind of engine was going to come in it... Also, my shitbox frs doesn't have a subaru engine...(goes with the above) Also, I love your comments based on assumptions and ignorance

Conversations like this exemplify why if you had told me 3 years ago that I would own a Toyota product built after I was born I would have laughed in your face.
Never drive boring. |
