Results from our 10th and 11th events held on Thunderhill Raceway this past weekend, Oct 25/26! Thanks to NCRC for hosting us. Special thanks again to CSG, LPI Racing, and Mann Engineering for their support!

* Mann Engineering is doing another dyno/tune day with Delicious Tuning on Dec 5/6 in Santa Clara! Slots are still available. Contact Mann Engineering if you want some tuning.

** @CSG Mike treks to Thill this past weekend to provide support to the NorCal crew and to show what little experience he has on Thill...blasts a blistering 2:10 on his own after a weekend of showing patrons how to get it done.

Coverage and pictures starts here: post #903.
+ inked red times are the best times at the track and configuration respectively.
+ Saturday's average lap times of @AyJay (2:18.5 @ 30 laps) and @RehabJeff86 (2:18.1 @ 33 laps) are a worthy mention behind @WoOosOn 2:15.6 @ 37 laps on the Cyclone.
+ Congrats to @WoOosOn and @sw20kosh for testing and advancing to the Open class!
+ 9 participants on Saturday and 10 participants on Sunday, this is the biggest weekend we've had! A handful of Solo drivers practicing as well, waiting patiently to join us
+ Saturday dinner at Casa Ramos that @sw20kosh started with friends was the place to be at to share thoughts, experiences, perspective mods, and to witness a SF Giants win.
+ @CSG Mike donates a pack of chromoly lug nuts we choose numbers for. We know who won it so now upgrade upgrade upgrade!!

Can't have a track day this huge without a couple hiccups:
- 2 coilpacks and 1 electrical short had quick resolutions from Mike and crew, NOT rendering those cars/drivers out for the weekend. As a matter of fact, they continued to set personnel bests.
- we had our offs but we all recovered quickly and finished the session and completed the weekend. Mike had the worst, IMO, unbeaded a wheel near the end of a session. Rolled into the tire station, removed - remounted in no time at all.
- Truck driver/vendor for the following day's venue were impolite in asking us to vacate the area they wanted.

Summary of the weekend and pictures are posted on 86drive.com site: http://86drive.com/2014/10/28/86cup-...-10-11-wrapup/ Thanks to @PMok

Enjoy a few more pics:

Oh btw, can I get some email addresses? Items we discuss going into 2015 as well as the 2015 schedule. Thanks.

Edit: I can't reply to the emails just yet. At Pleasanton fairgrounds for my daughter's 3day Hula comp. So I'm not ignoring anyone, just need to get to a PC again. At the moment, I dunno when I can again

oh yeah, I noticed that after I uploaded to YT... should have put a transition between the clips, but too lazy to fix it. I cut it shorter so it would stay under 10 min, I seem to have problems uploading when it's longer than that.

also, math is not my strong point, but if my calculations are right, both Kevin and Wilson have now officially clinched the titles in Mod and Street classes, respectively! Congratulations guys some excellent driving by you both all season long.

You guys provide the contents! You guys make it easy to write about

Alright, results pic is fixed. Until said otherwise, our NorCal 86Cup records as it stands:

RehabJeff86 holds Thill's CCW Bypass record at 2:08.406.
WoOosOn holds Thill's CCW Cyclone record at 2:09.754.
sw20kosh holds BW's CW configuration at 2:05.559.
**this is using real data, AMB recordings/lap times only.**

Our last event on Dec 27, 2014 @ Laguna will be our only recorded time there. It's anyone's game to set the best time going into the 2015 season. There are 11 opportunities for Laguna in 2015!

and that was a very fitting post #1000 in this thread, right there! congrats and thank you to @MyRx for all his hardwork in making this 86CUP series a reality up here in NorCal. And thanks to @CSG Mike and all the others down in SoCal for establishing the model for us, and now perhaps elsewhere across the country, to follow.

Total 27 days

about 2 days/1 weekend per month?

can't we do it all? since its no extra cost to NCRC (only time it differently) it will only make it easier for participant to plan their schedule

My $0.02...

27 events is an extremely large committment and I imagine it will probably be taxing for regular participants trying to hold on to or chase a points lead to attend everyone of them. We might run into a scenario where your class winners are the only ones with the time and funds to make that committment.

I would prefer to see the schedule kept to a manageable 8-10 events... or at least something like your best 8-10 scores count toward the series.

Oh I didn't mentioned it yet, 27 days is NCRC's days on the track, not the 86Cup. We can not track for 27 days, if anyone can, more power to you. We will however choose 8-10 or 12 days from those 27 days to use for 2015 season.

Hope that clears up some misunderstanding. 8, 10, or 12 days from what I have as NCRC's tracks days for 2015.
