Tomei uel headers w/o heat shield

I just had my tomei uel headers installed on my frs, but when I asked the guy who installed them about the heat shield that the website lists is included for the oil pan, he said there was none in the box. I've read that the tomei headers bolt pretty close to the oil pan so I'm wondering if this is a cause for concern. Anyone with any information would be greatly appreciated. Last thing I need is to total my car because of something like this. Thanks

You get heat wrap tape with your box. If you installed it yourself, you will see a package with the heat wrap tape. If you didn't install it yourself, then your installer probably didn't know about it.

If the heat wrap isn't installed is it going to cause problems?

You're radiating a lot of heat to the oil pan which isn't necessarily a good thing.

Get your installer to check the box for heat wrap. If that fails, procure heat wrap and apply to oil pan yourself.

I don't see the point in putting this on your sump and leaving the rest of the engine unprotected.

I think the oil temp in your sump is the least of your problems when you're radiating heat directly on to engine seals and everything else in the engine bay.

Black ceramic coating inside and out. Unfortunately I only have mine done on the outside but I had the vendor do it and they warranty the headers for 3 years. Don't know if they can sandblast inside to get rid of the carbon buildup and coat inside now.

Or you could make heat shields easier than with catted headers. Coating does look better though.
