My BRZ will be in the garage for 2/3 of my driving now that I bought a BMW for my daily commute.
I unfortunately sold the bike I just bought in order to get the BMW, but at least I sold it for what I bought it for, plus I decided I'm going to get an electric bike for my next bike once I pay off one of my debts. I still have my Dainese leathers so I won't need to buy those again. If I were you I'd still drive the BRZ a lot, just not in a monsoon like yesterday. A little rain yes, but monsoon no if there's another vehicle to drive.

If I had another car that I could use permanently that wasn't shared with anyone else, I would probably store my car for the winter; I got to drive a 4Runner to work yesterday during the heavy rain, and it crossed my mind several time during the trip that I was glad to be driving that, and not my FR-S in the awful weather.
I hate driving it in the wet, and I feel like the paint is so susceptible to damage and water spots, it makes me worry for it driving on the freeway with all of the traffic that happens during the bad weather, and I have to spend 10 - 15 minutes after I get home carefully trying to dry off all of the level surfaces that will otherwise leave water spots if I just let them evaporate. Especially as my car is asphalt, I feel like with the bad weather and darker lighting during the winter that I'm constantly having to watch out for idiot SUVs merging into me (although that's gotten better with the new exhaust ).Although, it would be hard to say that I wouldn't miss driving my car, but it would be nice to have another option always available at least. |

I'll be garaging mine. I have the garage space & a lease overlap that's left me with a bonus car until March. So I'll be driving a Kia Soul for the winter.
On that note whats proper procedure? Do I drain all fuel? Pull the battery and block the car up to keep the tires from developing flat spots? I've never wintered a car before. |

2. Wax your car 3. Change oil 4. Hook up trickle charger (don't disconnect battery, you'll lose all ecu fuel trims and learning) 5.a. Inflate all tires to max sidewall pressure or 5 b. Put the car on jack-stands (preferred) 6. Do not leave handbrake on, it'll fuse to the rotors. Note, it is not necessary to start the car every few weeks, actually a bit harmful source: I've been winterizing bikes for years.

I'm neutral on how it looks. I do however like everything else about it.
