thinking about garaging car for the winter

So driving in the massive rain yesterday made me want to let my BRZ rest for the winter season. It was fun doing donuts in the wet, but I have too much camber now and with the shitty grooves on the freeway, I had trouble going straight.

Are you guys still going to daily your 86 throughout the winter? I try to enjoy my car as much as I can but the combination of safety concerns, getting filthy dirty and vented hood in the rain, I'm leaning strongly towards garaging it until next spring. I have a spare garage in a different building not too far away so I will drive it when its super nice out.

I just hate driving my SUV, so boring.

Considering it is my only source of transportation besides feet I will be driving it until the tires fall off

Welcome to my world of winter garage queen. All great points and one last one i like to throw in is i don't want some ass hat hitting or rear ending me because they aren't paying attention to the wet or icy road conditions!! Do it become the garage queen. You will fall back in love with the car when spring comes back around.

Mine stays in the garage most winter for similar issues (lots of camber, strut mounts letting water into engine compartment, oil cooler overcooling, etcetera)

Get yourself a winter banger, treat it mercilessly, then sell it next year for what you paid. I finally blew the transmission in my Jetta a few weeks ago and still sold it for what I paid

Yes exactly. Once it's all used up throw on some window stickers, cut the springs, and sell it for a profit. :burnrubber:

might go hit up a dealer car auction to see what they got. Bad weather means less people to bid against.

Salvaged bank repo'd STI would be fun to fuck around with lol..

Winter wheels and tires ftw. Oh wait camber. nvm

Its every wednesday at Crosspoint NW. They're not on top of shit when it comes to the auction car list, but it usually goes up the night before on their website.

If my buddy bids on a car (he's got the dealer license) then I think you have like 3 days to go pick up your car and pay cash there. Its pretty time consuming so I'm gonna take a cut if I'm gonna do the home work for you for the car. My buddy has the carfax app (shits like $600 a month) to check for the records. I can test drive the car there as well.

I probably won't have time to hit it up next week though, but I'll let you guys know when I do go. Shits fun, shady people, free breakfast buffet lol.

If I can buy a car sub 1000. I'm in.

Auctions open to the public? I understand only dealers can bid, but can anybody show up and see what is on the block? I've already got a new beater for this season, but wouldn't be opposed to picking up something different if the opportunity arises.

Is it usually just fairly new (<10 model years) beige/boring type cars or do they get old/interesting type stuff too? I've been meaning to pick up an X300 or X308 Jaguar as a daily for a while now.

or an 850r
or an SRT-4
or a Maurauder
or a W12 Phaeton
