Ok dragging this back from the dead because I didn't want to create another thread just for my question.

When installing the overpipe at the same time as the header, do I still need to remove the heat shields, or lift the engine like most do? Or is it much easier to wriggle the overpipe without doing all that when the header is already removed?

hmmm you might be able to wiggle it out to header side.
maybe others who installed all components at same time can help

I installed the OFH and the Overpipe with midpipe last week. I remove the heat shield, there are only 5 bolts. It would be easier if you remove the midpipe mounting.

You would still need to jack the engine up or remove the heat shields. I removed the one bolt and jacked the engine up a bit with a wood block under the oil pan. Takes only a minute to do.

If you planned to do this by yourself via Rhino ramp or jacks, heat shields removal is better since you will have more room under the car to work with.
If you in a shop, jack up the engine would be better.

You still need to remove the heat shields or lift the engine. Either one will work. I replaced the header at the same time as my overpipe, and I had to remove the heat shields.

Hey man I'm installing turbo kit right now and this over pipe is a pain in the ass. One of the two nuts that connects to the stock headers is stripped smh. Is their anyway to get it out while still connected to header?
