18x9.5 +38
235/40/18
Lowered on RSR super down springs

Will this fit or will it cause rubbing on the front suspension?
What other tire setup can I use? 245/40 or 245/35

18x9.5 +23 with 11mm conversion spacer, not sure tire sizing yet.
lowered 2" on coils.
going to be looking to run about 3.5 degrees camber in front and about 2 or so in the rear
Cheers

18x9.5 +40 is pretty much flush with a bit of camber.

At +12 offset your wheels will be sticking out like an inch if you can even fit them.

Hey guys,

I'm planning on getting Work Emotion D9R rims in 18 x 8.5 +38, running them on 245/35/18 tyres. I will also be lowering my 86 by 25mm (0.98inches).

I live in Australia, and legislation states that wheels must not stick out of the wheel guards.

So my question is whether or not the aforementioned setup will be legal, ie. will the wheels sit inside the guards?

Cheers everyone

Michael

This is a good wheel size and offset.
Also, with the lowering, you will gain negative camber which will help pull the top of wheel/tire in.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the guards", but the top of tire will be inside the top of the wheel opening in the fender. If that's how they measure it, you should be quite alright.

My sig below shows my wheels on 245/35R18 and they just fit. Technically, yours should be inboard by an extra 6-10mm (outside of wheel).

Hey everyone, I picked up some Enkei RPF1's in 18x8 +45 offset. I am thinking of doing 245/40/18 tires with H&R Super Sport springs, which should yield a 1.2" drop in the front and a 1.4" drop in the rear. Will 245/40/18's be ok with this?

Hey guys, similar to mikkeluo's post from above with the Australian laws,
would there be any issues at all with 18x8.5 +40 all round lowered on eibach pro kit?
225/40/18 rubber
Eg. Clearance, rubbing etc?

With out camber adjustment and a drop, you will poke in the front quite a bit.

You are golden! Those specs are great!

Wheels are great! Tires are too tall.
These are better sizes, 225/40 or 245/35. Your speedo will be off with the 245/40 and the tire is heavier.

Hey guys, I was just offered a set of winter wheels from a Subaru Legacy. The wheels are 16x7 w/ a 50 mm offset and a 5x100 bolt pattern. Those should fit just fine. But the tires are 205/65R16. I see that the recommended size for our cars is 205/55R16. Will the 205/65 fit alright without any issues? Thanks.

Here is a link to a tire calculator. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.do

This is how everyone checks the specs on tires.

And no the tires won't work optimally, they are way too tall. You will be going 70 when your speedo says 65. That's way more than the suggested +/- 3% variance. about 7.1%

I'm considering picking up a staggered wheel setup:

18x8.5 +45 w/ 235/35 R18s up front
18x9.5 +45 w/ 255/35 R18s in the rear (maybe, otherwise I'll just square the rear with the fronts.)

I'm still on stock suspension, will almost certainly be dropped in the future. But doubtful it will be more than an inch.

Everything I'm reading seems to tell me that I should not have clearance issues with this setup on stock. I'm certain I won't once I'm lowered a tad. Can anybody confirm?

Edit: Seems I was kind of answered a few pages back:

Check the wheel directory and have a look at others here:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63268

Either run staggered F8.5 +45/R9.5 +45
or
go square with an offset closer to +35 to +38
or
add 10mm spacers to the front
or
go with another wheel option
Looks like my research seemed to lead me to the first option here.

Thanks for all the answers I see you handing out here @Slick. It's appriciated!
