The BRZ/FRS filter is plenty large. We did have an issue with the STi filters being too small and not actually filtering (bypassing) and the fix was the size currently used in the FA20.

I'm running straight Red Line Lightweight Shockproof which is already pretty packed with molybdenum from my understanding. There is a warning about using it with pumps but it's been fine in the STi and in fact I run straight Heavyweight Shockproof in that gearbox and it has proven to last the longest. I might cut it down some with 80/90 since the cooler will stabilize viscosity.

Another race weekend in the bag and the Element Tuning Pro Comp engine is still singing along. Very happy to say the least!!!! Not only that but we broke the NASA TT2 lap record at VIR running a 1:58.

In car video:
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hS2dsVVglQ"]Element Tuning Time Attack FRS VIR Lap Record - YouTube[/ame]

Oil pressure stayed consistently right above 60 psi for the entire race duration. We were also able to find the sweet spot for the oil accumulator which reduced the amount of blow by into the catch tank.

We also made a transmission cooler and the gearbox held up so hopefully it will extend the gear's life and strength!

The ABS computer is nuts in this car and God only knows why it shuts off and or goes into ICE mode.

I'm not sure if it will help with the ABS computer or not, but I know a lot of us track guys are using the AP Racing Sprint/Endurance kits from Essex and haven't had any issues, but I doubt many people are running aftermarket ecus or your crazy amount of tire and downforce

Good to see you and your FR-S back at its old fireplace, err, I mean VIR!

I'm not sure anyone makes a straight cut gearset yet. Pretty much transmission swaps or a Hollinger Sequential.

Maybe SSP would make some seeing as how they made the valve body upgrades for the AT

Autos are really a totally different animal so it's unlikely they would. Typically it's going to be PPG, Albins, etc. Ultimately you're very limited by the physical size of the gears and I think someone tested one without much success (Accelerated?)

I don't mind being a guinea pig if I pick up a sponsorship but if I'm buying all in I want something proven so maybe a Hollinger or even a T-whatever swap.

I'm not going to answer that I'm just going to say bearings are not the problem. This has been the biggest misconception fed by people who can't build tested motors so it's easy to blame the bearing. OEM bearings are typically very good in Subaru engines but they are very expensive and that's the main reason to change them. Typically these bearings and many of the "race" bearings are hard which is ideal in maintaining form and ensuring the oil wedge stays where you set it (remember the oil wedge is the bearing, not the bearing itself). Some fall into the trap of using "soft" bearings because they'll damage less when there is a failure. I say just build it right and you won't have worry about bearing failure. LOL!

So have we found the weak link in the transmission?
If a sequential or swapped tranny aren't an option. What options are there

I'd say stock gearbox with a good pump and cooler would hold up well to decent amounts of power.
