Toyota dealer near me still has a hot lava Monogram on the lot for 30k. They added LED accents and clear bra to jack up the price. Probably why it hasn't sold.

When I was car shopping I only looked at the hot lava. As previously stated in this thread, white, black and gray are the dominant colors on the road so the orange definitely sticks out.
Including my car, I've only seen 3 hot lavas on the road in my area. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 are kids at my university :/
However, the car looks good in all stock colors, and I understand that some people don't want to drive a car that is bright orange.

Seems too be a common theme with the hot lava. Mine was the showroom car to showcase all the Dealer add ons. It had all the early 2014 TRD goodies, tint, bra, lip spoiler and paint protection. Probably the flashy colour is why they picked that colour to do up cuz it certainly caught your eye. Don't think they did it too "jack the price up" so much as to say "look at all the stuff we will sell you".

Unless someone really wants a 2014 hot lava Monogram, the newer RS 1.0 may get car buyers' attention if they are already willing to spend $30k+.

It always struck me as a beautiful color, but not one to live with. I like my Whiteout because it shines in the son, hides dirt almost as well as silver, yet blends in to morning rush hour traffic when the Man is looking for revenue enhancement.

I don't place too much importance on color, but the whole "burnt orange" sort of thing never appealed to me. Personally, I think it's the worst looking color available for the FRS...

...but I'd still buy one for the right price. lol

one of the best selling features of the whiteout for sure

i've done some fun and borderline stupid (though not insane) things on public roads such as sliding through corners on a 3 lane intersection with no pedestrians crossing and no oncoming traffic at 40km/h

but only during the times that i can get away with it and only on warm clear days i would not endanger myself or others. and it took a lot of play to work up to that speed and learning the feel of this car gradually

it's possible, but no i came in while they still had about 4-5 hours before closing time. so plenty of time to handle the finances and move the damn vehicle while i set up for payments

it was their loss in the end

I always like the whole "bllend Ito traffic" theory for the more common colours as many have added brighter tails, load exhaust, fancy rims or other things that still scream LOOK AT ME.
I like the flashy look and the only cops I attract so far just want to ask how I like the car.

Nearly bought the Hot Lava myself since I was surprisingly having a hard time finding a Ultramarine FR-S in my area. I was stuck between Firestorm, Hot Lava or Ultramarine. Ultimately picked Ultra because there are way more color combinations you can do aftermarket wise while with Hot Lava there is only so much you can do with it.

My opinion on it don't shoot me.

Heh, yeah. I'm bone stock though (well, I have an armrest) so no give-aways there.

If Hot Lava had been available in the BRZ, I'd have bought it in that color. Just like you can't get WRB on an FRS, the HL is exclusive to the FRS. Had an 07 Pontiac G5 GT in Fuzion Orange Metallic and loved the color, except it got totaled........ First orange I really liked was on the 05 Corvette and was called Daytona Sunset Tangerine. So awesome on that car.

Agreed. The colors conflict quite a bit.
