After watching the video Dezoris posted, I can see why Toyota/Subaru wouldn't be hasty to a decision. Clearly a pain in the a$$ to get to them (should read "expensive"). Keep in mind, also, that there is an engineering process at these companies, so things have to be thoroughly checked and approved. If it is a proven issue, a fix will come out sooner or later.

I have 2015 with only 1,200 miles, drivetrain is 100% stock and I already have this problem. I followed the brake-in procedure for the first 1000 miles and I still have been going easy with since then. (SIGH)

I know what I heard and I know that it was not "normal"![]() I already knew that they were not going to be able to reproduce the problem though. The service guy did sat that the 2015s have a different design for the collar/seal on the DI. We will see what happens with time. |

Very interesting there is a factory ECU correction for the direct injector leaking issue. I'm just wondering if tuners take this into account when they change ignition timings, AFR's etc.

Maybe it's that these vehicles are running to lean do to faulty ecu's that are causing these failures. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

A loud as f#&$ pop from under the hood is never normal though. Tech said, "Found cold start injectors heard through reverb pipe. No abnormalities at this time." I'm going to remove the sound tube to eliminate that as a possibility. |

You mean the stock ecu? Nope.. above 4000 RPMs it runs quite rich. Factory adds more fuel in high RPMs for protecting the motor generating high temperatures and dangerous knocking. Tuners always changing these AFM ratios and run leaner ..

The popping on cold start can be normal if fuel has ethanol in it.
