Random fluttering/flapping sound when coming to a stop
It's def the engine and not the flywheel.
I can differentiate with flywheel chatter when operating the car in low engine speed. That's when I normally hear the flywheel |

Yeah... guys, as stated earlier, cars, and sports cars in particular, are not meant to accelerate from that low of RPM. If you have a manual, downshift, or at least slip the clutch more when around 1k RPM. If you're using the auto paddle shifters, just don't let it fall that low.

Based on what I've read on the forums, it's a common sound and supposedly nothing is wrong with the car. It happens when coasting to a stop while in neutral and the engine is at idle speed. Pressing on the clutch pedal seems to stop it. And if the air conditioner is turned off, it seems to not happen. |

I've noticed this sound as well, and it's definitely connected to the RPM drop. Mines an auto, and I only hear it while stopped and idling, with the AC on. Recently, I've also heard what sounds like a muted jackhammer for about 1 second, when the AC clicks on the the RPMs drop. I'm bringing it in to the dealership this weekend to check it out. I have about 16k miles.

There's a TSB out there for the RPM drop, if you believe the RPMs drop too much. It's a ECU update - had it done on my BRZ and it solved the RPM drop when the a/c is on. |

yup, x2. I know some people have had issues with their dealer not doing it unless they can "prove it". But if you bitch enough, they should do it for you. It is a TSB after all. Unless its really horrible, I avoid the dealership as they may fix something that ain't broke or wash my car with sandpaper. |

^^ that sounds like anti-stall when the revs have run very low. Normally this is due to bad mapping causing excessing rev drop when entering an idle state. As others have said there's a TSB out so my guess this is what your car is doing.
