I think where this gets out of hand is when people start comparing the ESC to a turbo or supercharger. That's like comparing N20 to a turbo. Different applications.

Personally, the ESC isn't for me.. and it probably isn't for most people who went turbo. But I will concede that it is making some real power, unlike the "leaf blowers" that you see on eBay.

As for Fast_Freddy, really simple.. just don't but it. The info is all out their and the company is legit, so need to bash on it relentlessly. I haven't seen many people claiming that the ESC is superior to a turbo or supercharger. They are just saying it is another option for those that don't even know what they are looking for, as is N20 or Methanol.

You know why not? Because there are tons of VERY happy Phantom ESC owners who are extremely satisfied with their purchase. There's a waiting list about 50-60 deep for the following ESC batches. There are also Miata owners who have received their kits who are also very happy. The product is out and it works. The dozens of dynos, videos, and anecdotes all flesh that out. You, in your ignorance rushed to judge the product and were wrong. The Phantom ESC is a great buy and it gets better every month. Your ridiculous personal war is over and guess what, you lost.

You expose yourself at every lame attempt to pivot and/or manipulate the discussion. It becomes even more clear when you won't answer questions. Even more so when you lash out and make childish remarks. People read right through it. You're actions make you the definition of an internet troll.

Fredo, seriously, man to man. Every time you lie, white lie or major fib, you're telling the person you're talking to that you that think they're dumb or that you think you are smarter than they are. Do you understand this? Especially on the internet where the words are frozen in time. So just like when a child fibs to an adult. We smirk at you, chuckle to ourselves and let you continue on making an ass out of yourself. This is why people don't like you (both on this board on the internet, and probably IRL). You're not smarter than everyone else that reads your posts. I hope that point sinks in and somehow helps you in life. Peace.

So once again, as always, you can't substantiate any of your grossly exaggerated, zealous fanboy claims so you retaliate with false accusations, insults and name calling. Bravo! Daemano, Bravo!

Please don't confuse me questioning zealous, exagerating fanboys with bashing the object of their zealous devotion. The Phantom ESC is a pretty cool product and compared to previous attempts, it works phenomenally well. My only issue with it are some of the grossly exaggerated claims made by a handful of it's fans. That's all.

I won't be buying one but see no reason why others should not. I just hope that they buy it for what is is and what it can do and not for what zealots like Daemano claim it can do.

It's battery powered, only works in short bursts, only works at full throttle, etc.

But yeah if you're on a budget and want a simple install it's great.

Some good points. I do want to clarify something here though. The ESC will provide boost not in short bursts, but instead as long as the battery has enough juice to do it. Note that my longest WOT pull has been about 25 seconds. I let off the gas NOT because the ESC ran out of battery, but because I ran out of road and was going WAY TOO fast at that point. With my current setup (TQ250v 1.5x w/ AUX charger) I have yet to run out of battery to perform WOT pulls in any circumstance and that's after repeated WOT pulls.

I think this little excerpt from page 1 of the Full Throttle ESC thread sums it up pretty well:

"The idea of this project is to give the FRS or BRZ a nice increase of torque and power on demand. This is by no means meant to compete with full time FI applications but should provide that nice little bump in power that most people want."
