Thanks, I assume the tune would need to be changed back too. Is that not the case?

You can't say that Dyno Dynamics read low without also saying that they can also read high. It all depends on the operator. Dyno Dynamics has a "comparison mode" that is supposed to read Dynojet equivalent numbers. From what I've seen it is close but actually higher than a real Dynojet. This is why every N/A 86 that has exceeded 200 whp on pump gas to date has done so on a Dyno Dynamics. One guy even hit 206 whp by removing the weather correction. The same configurations are only reaching 195 whp on un-cheatable Dynojets. This thread is full of Dyno Dynamics results displayed in the higher reading "comparison mode" with the possible exception of VR46. It would be nice to hear from PTuning as to what mode they used to display his results. I would guess that they used normal mode since his whp result is lower than typical for N/A on e85. This means that my dyno is not a good baseline unless some correction is factored in and then it all becomes guesswork with very questionable results. As for the custom tuning I was referring to the results obtained by Shiv after custom tuning, not yours. Anyway, if nothing else, I suppose the message we could take away from this is to always take Dyno Dynamics numbers with a large grain of salt. |

Another question from the peanut gallery (did try searching the thread first)...
Are the effects of the Phantom cumulative with exhaust upgrades (particularly header upgrade)? So let's say (completely arbitrary numbers here) that at stock I make 150tq @4,000rpm. Now let's say that with the Phantom installed only, now I make 185tq @4,000rpm (so increase of 35tq @4,000rpm with just the Phantom). Then I remove the Phantom and install just a header, now I make 160tq @4,000rpm (so increase of 10tq @4,000rpm with just the header). And now, finally, I add on the Phantom along with the header...Would I now see 195tq @4,000rpm (the cumulative gain from both)? Thanks.

So are you saying that all dyno results are directly comparable? Or just the ones you choose to support your agenda? |
