I did this trick with my turbo Del Sol and it made a marginal 15 degree temp difference. Pulled that thin rubber gasket off the windshield cowl and stuck a washer between the hood and the hinges. It let out some of the hot air through the back of the hood.

The only thing i can think of is if you take something very hot and and water to it, that doesnt go well.

however, if the spray is not an extremely heavy drenching it should be ok. I'm seriously going to look into this soon.

It was a light spray on the hot side of the intercooler. I've seen systems rigged up to automatically spray whenever the intake was over a certain boost level. Works pretty well.

Bonus: it helps cool the radiator too...

I've seen people rig them up to their wiper bottles and simply spray them manually to help with cool down.

FBM Stage 1

1) FBM shroud with Spal fans
2) Koyo radiator
3) FBM oil cooler
4) Additional hood and bumper ventilation
5) Motul Mocool
6) Heat wrap

Still have a problem with heat after pushing turbo.

Maybe an aftermarket bumper (not necessarily this one...)?

The 'grille' portion of that front end isn't a mesh, it's solid and the opening is pretty much the same as stock. minus the foglight area.

This is what I've done, along with a Drift Armor front crash bar replacing the stock crash beam. This allows a LOT more air in through the front.

I also modified my skidplate, cutting a hole and adding a rubber "trip strip" to help draw air out of the engine bay.
