The fans, well they are use (or designed to be use) when the car is NOT moving, as well as the shroud... They won't pass more air through the radiator, compared with 20-25mph "car running".
The oil cooler, I'm really interested, you sir have better control that most on turbo, and that's the only thing holding me back to change from SC to turbo. By the way how many rows have your oil cooler?

*the rule is: if your car make more hp it will need more heat dissipation capacity, but if recycle exhaust heat then is no need, it's a urge.*

Yea I have a stock radiator at the moment. I can't exactly remember why but I was told setting the fan temps too low isn't a good thing either (something about coolant staying in the radiator too long or something).

The oil cooler I use is this one:
http://www.tomiokaracing.com/index.p...hermostat.html
it says 16 row.

I really want to resolve this high coolant temp issue (220F just driving stop and go traffic today again) and the next step I am thinking is drilling holes in the front bumper, FB shroud for stock rad/fan set up. My custom TC kit is so tight in their, I am not sure if the thicker Koyo Rad will fit in their without using thin spal fans.

Whether its Koyo or stock rad, I still think the issue is air flow and fans. Not the radiator it self.

This.

People are not gonna wanna hear this but the koyo and the stock rad saw the same problem with temps at our local racetrack on pretty much identical turbo charged setups.

The problem is air flow not core thickness. But I do have a feeling if you get massive airflow increase through the radiator, the KOYO might start to show its superiority. As it stands there is just so little airflow with the bumper beam + FMIC + oil coler etc.

So you have the FB kit!? Congrats outstanding whp and service!!
And I think the koyo rad will not fit
Also agree with the fans and shroud, dose are vital! And you are correct is the airflow but the bigger the rad the lower flow need to cool
But you HAVE to cool your turbo! Also your engine, I have 20 rows for basically NA... Well have a vortech at 9 psi. For that setup the koyo rad is right but need 20 rows of oil cooler and use 7.5qts. And the SC have his own oil cooler + separate oil pump...

Yes! Yes! Yes! And off course! The 10-16 rows oil cooler are mostly ok for NA or SC, but for turbo at track? I use 20 rows and is SC, sure 20 rows aren't enough for tracking turbo.

Sorry airflow is married to core thickness, cross section area likes to look
So can't fit a bigger rad, and the oil cooler + intercooler are on the way...
Mmmmm
Bigger oil cooler behind fog light? 32 rows?
Really looking to solve this issue as I may go Turbo.

The Subaru STi used to come with a mist spray for the intercooler. Would something similar not help?

Also a black intercooler apparently expells more heat...

Thanks to AVO for doing their R&D homework. My bottom mounted turbo and black FMIC keep my motor cool all the time with no need for a vented hood. I was running the same autocross in Portland Sunday (96 degree heat) as BRZPDX and with the stock cooling system did not see temps anything close to his.

Yes, notice how every vent is louvered, and at the front.

I was curious about these types of systems as well and was considering putting one on my intercooler. Is there any downside?

Watched the whole thing, pretty cool.
The only benefit to having it black versus normal color is when the car is stopped or driving slowly such as in traffic or at a stoplight. As soon as you're moving again at a respectable pace the black intercooler has no more effectiveness than a silver intercooler. You probably wouldn't see any benefits at all on a track. Maybe a little at the drag strip right before your launch.
