I just throw on the filter.
No priming, no lube since they come already lubed.

I've been changing oil for many, many years, never once primed a filter. I lube the gasket with clean oil with a clean finger and spin it on. Start the car, let it idle for several minutes while checking for leaks. Re-check oil level after you let it sit for a while.
Not that priming a filter is a bad idea, just an extra precautionary step that you can take if you so desire or if the vehicle maintenance procedures specifically calls for it. |
