Just got back from a drive, and I think it actually feels a bit better than the OEM fluid (the 1-2 and more so the 2-3 shifts feel smoother). I wasn't concerned about it, and didn't expect the fluid to make a difference, but it seems like it did.

I doubt it. And I don't really see the need, since the tranny oil change interval is so long. Even heavily tracked cars usually only change tranny/diff oil once per season.
