And that's on 235s? I'm curious to see how this weekend goes. I'm going to the Virginia AutoX Championships and we're going to try to swap my SoloStorm between my car and my friend's. I'm on 215 RS3s... he's on 235s. I settled on 40F/34R as my happy point... but I don't know what he's running. I'll pass on your info about pressures to him if you're on the 235 RS3s like he is.

Between the three of us, we have the whole gamut covered. I'm on staggered 225 & 235, right in the middle.

I drove home on the RS3v2 this weekend and noticed they are annoyingly loud, is this common for these tires? I had to turn my radio way up to drown it out.

Result: pretty dang good. The car had just a bit of extra turn in before stabilizing into normal understeer. The car was fast all day, and I ended up 2nd in X class, 3rd in PAX. Looks like I've found my setup for nationals, and just in time
Nice work on dialing it in time for Nationals. Best of luck and I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. This year will be very interesting.

I'm still in the process of dialing in my car now and am starting to look at alignment changes. Do you mind sharing whatever guide/thread you used (if there was one) for adjusting toe & alignment? I might want to try it for my next event as I felt the car was a little pushy with its current setup.

I wouldn't mind a little better turn in and better rotation upon corner exit for these higher speed 90 degree turns the local club likes to run. I think a bit of toe out on both front and rear should help with that.

Also, did you feel you lost any transitional stability upon the tow adjustment?

Thanks.

Common for most hardcore street tires. The older they get, the louder they'll be too.

I used flat plates on each wheel and tape measures to check/set toe. The change did not destabilize the car, just seemed to improve the early to mid corner rotation. Mid corner to exit stability was not significantly affected, IMO.

Why don't I remember meeting you or Chris yet? We're all running at the same events in the same car

I'm sharing everything I've done all year with the hope that we can all do well at nationals. We're all team mates here

I think all current cars will stay in CS, with the 370Z adding a bit of a course dependency twist to the class. Initially, I figured this car was done for in CS. Now, I'm not so sure. It'll take a heckuva drive, though.

True, but my 120+ run AD08R's are totally silent and my wearbar ZIIs are not THAT bad. I'm definitely not driving 18 hours on the RS3v2s to Lincoln!

+1 and thanks for posting. I assume you're still using the Perrin bar too? I'll try to drop by and meet you in a few weeks at Nats. I think we have a nearly identical set-up except I'm on 235 RS3s.

We just haven't been formally introduced. I was on grid during your heat in the big straw hat and the "Beer, its cheaper than gas" t-shirt.

Thanks so much. Now that you bring it up, I think I remember reading up on that DIY, I might give it a shot. I could benefit from some better mid corner rotation. Still have the Konis and air pressures to play with to try to balance the car too.

I assume you bring that up since I had my location as SA TX at some point. I did have that in my location not long ago, but that isn't where I am. Sorry for any confusion. I've since changed that to be even less descriptive .

Just got the car setup very recently, so depending on how things work out between now and into next year, giving Nationals a shot is on the table for 2015. Still have a way to go before I would consider myself and the car competitive, but it would be a pleasure to meet you then.

+1! Thanks so much and completely agree. I've shared my notes with many of the local 86 guys. Taking them for rides, riding with them, being open with feedback as it relates to course lines, car setup, etc. In my opinion, the better the competition we face, the more we develop and grow ourselves.

There is a decent argument to move the twins out based purely on registration numbers - I think it's almost half the class. Hell, they carved out a brand new AS for cars that couldn't cut it in SS, and there are roughly as many twins entries as there are AS entries (that's a good line, I'll put that in my letter).

There is a strong argument to change nothing if the Miata wins. And there's a strong argument to move the 370 out if it wins and locks out most of the trophies.

I'm hoping for the last of these scenarios as it's realistically the best shot we'll have for next year - if you look at the Prosolo points standings, it's a little depressing. It's going to be rare that a Miata beats a twin.

Let me rephrase that for you: "I'm so much better than all of you that you can have all of my setup notes and information...and I'll still beat your @ss."

:p
