Both of those conditions apply to the JR kit, but the JRSC places the filter in the same relative location as stock; it gets direct airflow from the hole where the stock intake snorkel used to be.

Your oil cooler is not in front of the IC is it? I thought it was behind the IC.

You guys running oil pressure gauges now as well?
I stopped tracking the car longer than 20 minutes after watching pressures drop into the 43-44PSI range (7000RPM)when oil temps hit 240F.

But I have been doing a long ass video about comparing the S2000 vs the 86 platform which has including about 10 hours of hard street driving and now track. After about 200F you start seeing 55-60PSI at 7000RPM After about 210F you start seeing 49PSI at 7000RPM After about 220F you start seeing 43-45PSI at 7000RPM After about 230F you start seeing 40-45PSI at 7000RPM After that, I had my two testers never rev past 6000RPM, on the track session is over. Now with that said, I have two UOA after long track days showing no metals. But I think at least for me, I am going to hang up any longer sessions with this car going forward because of this.

Thanks for invite or info? Seen it both ways.
If its invite, we live in the wrong states and you already know which is better.

Um so what was I getting at 260+ F oil temps? 30 psi? What is considered a dangerous range?
Don't people who track their stock 86's see 280+ F oil? The must really be in the danger zone for oil pressure then? |

Similar to say a mechanical rear limited slip differential combined with sticky tires. Will it blow the rear end immediately and in a spectacular way? Probably not. Is it bad for it long term? You bet. Similar goes for Oil and Coolant temps. Long term effects will be bad. -Mike Paisan ![]() Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Enthusiasts since 2001. If you track, get a gauge, set an alert for 40PSI if you hit it that, stop if you care about the longevity of the bottom end.

@CSG David
You mentioned you were looking at 20 row series 9. Well mkivsoopra and I installed 25 row series 9 setrabs. Did the 6.5k rpm 3rd gear on freeway for 20 mins in 70 F ambient. Couldn't get it above 207 F. Did the same for 5 mins on a mountain pass (still freeway) to stress the motor even more. Saw it max out at 220 F. Coolant never went above 203 F. A month or so ago I did this same test with the 13 row series 6 and a few weeks before that a 7" Mocal laminova. Saw 260 F in less than 10 mins on flat freeway in same 70ish ambient. |
