I love my solo DL. The ability to log rpm, brake pressure, throttle position, steering angle, wheel speed on 10-20Hz rate is priceless.
While reviewing my run, I noticed that air temp is lower than expected. I cross-checked temperature reading with techstream today and found that coolant , ambient air, and intake air temp is ~18F lower. Can someone check and see if there is the same discrepancy? If so, I can contact the company and ask them to fix scaling or offset factor. |

Does increasing the number of channels being recorded reduce the frequency of data?
For example, if I record 1 channel, I might get data at 10 Hz, but if I record 10 channels, I might only get data a 1 Hz.

Hopefully, you'll find that you are able to choose the rate at which you sample the channels you're logging, as some data require fast sample rates and others are fine at the slowest rate. Examples: RPM at 10 samples per second and oil temperature at 1 sample per second. That will give you the data you need without filling your logger's memory with unnecessary data.

No, the frequency stays the same. The only thing that increases is the log size. More channels at higher frequencies will fill up your memory card faster. Frequency limits are set by the sensor. I do not believe (ie, I assume) that the ECU interface, cable, or the datalogging unit (at least the AIM product) are not bottlenecks in this situation.

If you max out all the channels, you're collecting something around a thousand data points per second. |

I used my new AiM Solo DL this weekend at Thunderhill. Wow, so much data to crunch afterwards! There was one time where I spun... upon reviewing the data, I saw that I lifted in the corner, causing the rear end to come around.
GPS timing was within 0.2 seconds of the AMB setup at the track. Quote:

I can also confirm that water temps read LOW by about 18F. AiM Solo DL was showing 212-215F water temps, which I thought was ok.... until I noticed the stock temp needle on its way to H at one point. Yes, it was really 230F+. I changed it to read Celcius, but it's still off. @CSG Mike ? Saturday was too hot.. I think I blew the DI seals.
