Paint chip on roof :(

I recently washed my car, I've owned for almost one year and noticed there is a paint chip on the roof. I did purchase paint sealant but I heard it wasn't covered in the warranty. What are your suggestions as to how I should fix this? (touch up paint etc) and estimation of prices? Thanks in advance!

Judging by how the edge is lifting, it almost looks to be delaminating, or poor topcoat adhesion. Is it in deed flaking a bit around the chip? Do you recall being hit by a rock or something on the roof? Did you buy the vehicle new?

And a very very rough guess at a price attached.... mostly depends on labor rates. I would try to touch up first and if not happy, then get a good price to paint..

Very rough.. But something just does not look right about that damage. Almost as if chemical spilled on it... IDK..

Yeah, I bought the car brand new from dealership. No harsh chemicals ever fell on top of the roof.. I'm puzzled as to how this even happened. Do you think any chance dealership will warranty any of it?

As well, in terms of touch up paint I've never used it before but I know some recommend sanding etc. Will it be okay to just touch up the area or will I have to completely go through the whole procedure?

Wash the area with Dish Soap, clean area well, apply touchup paint, let it dry, wax.
.I wouldn't sand it jd you've never done anything lkke that before.

Is the car raven?

I started getting these all over my car within days of picking it up, brand new from the dealer. They gave me the run around / ignored me for 2 months about it until i recently just gave up....

I know MANY of these cars that suffer from this. the paint is TERRIBLE. the clear coat just separates from the paint and bubbles up until it chips off completely. It IS a factory defect that neither toyota or subaru will admit to... yet.

Keep pestering your dealer, SOA/TOA/SOA. keep records. demand the entire car be repainted.

Dude always emails me back. Sometimes he does get very busy. He hasn't put out any videos on his own channel or podcast for a long time. Damn shame.

Try his Ammo Skin, the wax is really good, along with the Hydrate to go with.

Everything else can be had for cheaper. But that wax is top notch stuff...

Yeah, it is raven. I've had enough troubles with my dealership, took me 8 trips back and forth just so they can fix the gasket on my tail lights from condensation. Don't really have much to say to them, I feel like everytime I bring it back they make matters worse, I just ordered a touch up pen in hopes that it will fix it for now haha
