Things I noted about the new tune (stage 1 93 octane) after 2 days of Blue Ridge Parkway runs:
(Have cat-back, tune, pulley, and filter btw) +Smoother power band, little better response. Also feels like a tiny bit more torque for longer (still a slight difference but great overall) +3rd gear feels like it pulls stronger +Quieter idle +Change in sound and volume slightly, more of an inline sound than a boxer, quieter for sure with a little less drone (on a V1 non-resonated) +More torque when engaging next gear, 2nd to 3rd at high rpm just feels more instinctive and a quicker change +Easier driveability, just feels smoother! I really like normal driving and it's smoothness, and driving fast is great! -Less induction noise and growl -Less of a surge at 4k rpm+ (not a bad thing, needle speed is more progressive and even) -Less low end torque (1.5-4k), but maybe better mid range torque? not sure yet -Valve train noise still prevalent (vvt "tin can noise" after 4krpm, especially on hills) but less than off-the-shelf tune. -Slightly harder to get going, easier to stall? (could be crazy), had a rough start that almost stalled for the 1st time ever. -Couldn't chirp 2nd Overall I'm satisfied. Quicker speeds (maybe acceleration,) smoother car and feels like there is slightly more usuable power. I tried to focus on before/after changes but take my analysis with a grain of salt. Thanks Shiv for the awesome tune! Last edited by Readytoxplod; 07-28-2014 at 10:59 PM. |

Cure for dead pedal. After you flash it tells you to key off and disconnect. Key off and disconnect. Now key on, but do not start the car. Slowly depress and release the pedal 10 times. Fire it up and enjoy. It will continue to get sharper but this helps tremendously. Don't forget to let the car idle for a few minutes until the cams unlock as well.

I did exactly that. Moved my MAF scale, fan temp settings, and timing over .

Smoother and faster is what I'm experiencing (Stg 1
91 ) It seems to have less peaky power and more usable torque spread out resulting in a quicker take off - curious see some 0-60 times compared to before - just to see if it's actually faster. I really like the refined feel of the engine now - "instinctive" is a good word as readytox said Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

OK, Stg 2 EL E85 A01C flashed, some noticeable improvements and refinements buuuut...now I am getting a P0463 CEL. Reset it and it just comes back. Did not happen with previous tanks of E85 and OFT OTS tunes. Shiv? Anyone? Buehler?

Files question...
Bought my OFT a few weeks ago. Came with A01C files installed. Yet OFM indicates CAL ZA1JA00C. The v2.01 Beta only accepts A00C files to the tablet. A01C and all others are not compatible. This is all new for me so forgive my ignorance. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks

Can you not open 2 ROMs in Romraider? I'm sure you can, and be able to compare them. Then it's just a case of copy and paste. I'll have a play in a bit.

yes you can do that , but the tune changed quite a bit and altered many dependent parameter and tables, so if you just copied in your maf scale for example it will probably mess up what the tuner intended especially on the E85 tunes with no flex fuel sensor.

I'm still seeing high 11's in AFR after moving the scale. but no, it let me open the new tune with the old xml i was using, so I opened the old tune, and the new, and just copy and pasted the tables. After that I opened it with the new xml, and adjusted LC and FFS.
