S3 greater than wrx. Looks better, performance is at least almost equal. Better equipment inside. More panache. The sti now offers little over the wrx. Do either the wrx for me or the s3

Have you ever actually owned a VW. Their electronics can be poor but the cars themselves are outstanding value for the money. The mk7 GTI can make 381 torque with just a tune from stock...

The front diff has torque vectoring. Pretty sure that would eliminate alot of torque steer. Plus, the auto trannies in alot of VWs are freaking DSG. Supercar numbers and technology for 26k? Yes please.

So you're bumping the torque up that much and think that the car is just going to take it? The reviews I've read said now it has been controlled greatly, but when you're modding something has to give. DSG is alright but I wouldn't do it again. Expensive maintenance every 30k or whatever it is, plus it's just not a stick. No elitism, just preference. Been there, done that, got the souvenir (the shaft from the local VW dealership, that is.)

And wait, supercar numbers? Wat? So this thing does 0-60 in three seconds and can hit 200 mph? And the transmission technology is available from tons of manufacturers now. In fact, you can get a Ford Fiesta with a DCT for like 16 grand.

I get that you're arguing for the sake of disagreement but seriously, with a tune it does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. That's damn quick. I fully intend to trade in both my cars now in 2017 (see my profile) and getting a 2017 GTI w/ performance pack and a 2017 Mustang GT for my fiance (her dad owns a 1967, so it's a 50 year thing). I'll report back if I have any issues then lol.

Beta testing on the Golf R stage 1 0-60 is 3.8 seconds on the stock exhaust. These cars are getting nuts!

Great cars...when under warranty.


Been in the automotive parts business for a while, and guess which one of the German companies consistently have the worst and most expensive issues...


They're trying to compete with the Asian car makers and can't come anywhere near their quality for the price. Kia and Hyundai are frankly shitting all over them in quality, MPG (on gas cars), styling, and warranty.


Also, I've always laughed at "German Engineering" as being some how the best thing since sliced bread. It's just a nice way of saying overcomplicated and expensive for a given job.

The new WRX/STi looks like it feel down the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. It looks like a land yacht compared to the older siblings. I'd take the S3 all day simply because it looks better.

Haven't test drive the s3 just yet , but I own the 2015 Sti ...the only thing I hate is the seat , no lumbar support . By old vertebrae need to be supported .

A lot of ppl says shit about the new Sti, I guess it happens because they don't Actualy drive one.

Audi on the other side has a prettier face ... I agree , but I won't trade my Sti for those ... Unless they're either rs7 or r8 v10s

Funny your opinion represented as fact doesn't align with actual ownership experience. My dad's had his A7 for 3 ish years with full headers and ehxuast and tuned and that car hasn't spent a single day in a shop or had a broken part of warranty work. All it gets is regular maintenance and lots of smiles.

There seems to be this lingering thought that Audis/BMWs/VW's etc are expensive to maintain. Having multiple friends/family that own these types of vehicles as well as friends that are mechanics its hardly much more in terms of money if at all when it comes to normal maintenance compared to other vehicles. Yes there is the occasional part that goes bad thats expensive, usually something electronic however its not nearly as much as people seem to believe. Their are exceptions to some vehicle models, and if you go to a dealer chances are you will get raped a bit more. However doing things yourself or from a reputable local shop is no more than any other modern vehicle.

You could own a Camry and the dealership will still bend you over.
$150 for a rotor? On a fucking Camry? Fuck off.

Most common problems on Audi's is the water pump and the alternator. There's still an 2005 A6 in our family that has yet to have any problems.

The early 2000's VW and Audi were horrible, shit on those all you want. But they've improved over the years. Either way, this forum is most JDM fanboys anyways, so you might as agree to disagree.
