Obvious troll is obvious.

Sad thing is like most internet trolls and like @shif7i7down mentioned Freddy has to use his imagination for bench racing and probably just about everything else like
  • Being outdoors
  • Real life social interactions
  • Actual F.I. on his own car
  • Touching a woman
  • Wit
  • Personal experience with just about anything
  • Self-respect
Maybe he never intended to become a troll. Maybe he just fell under the bridge, who knows or cares. The "Devil's advocate" guise played out a long time ago. Entertaining the guy just to add post count wears me out. So I don't know why peeps in this thread give him the time of day when he contributes nothing. It gets tiring. So my ignore button is going back on. I'd ask that others do the same.

My 1968 396 SS Camaro comes to mind when you bleat about "torque".

Like you I am currently without FI but unlike you I would prefer to wait for the real thing or even forego it rather than half-ass it. Not that there's anything wrong with this half-ass ESC FI as long as you keep in mind that it is what it is. It's only when you delude yourself and try to convince others into believing that it is somehow equal to or better than the real thing that people like me will no longer be able to bite our tongues hard enough to not call you out on it.

Anyway, I'm quite certain that if you permit Nlowell to downshift his Kraftwerks boosted 86 that he will have no difficulty dispatching any half-ass ESC challenger in 0-60, 0-100, 1/8, 1/4 mile, etc. The same goes for Innovate, Jackson, Vortech, AVO, and all the rest. You really need to stick with the "we may be slower but we only cost 2/3 as much" argument since that is the only truth I've ever seen you utter.
Dude just stay out of this thread. You have said your peace. Be done with it. Let people enjoy what they have and most people realize what this product is. As others have mentioned its an unlimited shot of nos.

Full throttle Electric Supercharger Build Thread

Hehe. Poor Freddy though too a little bit. I used to think a lot more like he does, but I just generally kept my foot in my mouth about it.

I'll be honest (and hopefully not offend anyone) by saying that I did originally buy the ESC as a toy. Basically a novelty that I could show friends and be all like "dude, check this out! I'm running electric boost!" -- I was even formulating my plan for selling it before I received it.

But it has definitely grown on me and has convinced ME not look into traditional boost for awhile now. It is incredibly fun for daily driving, Autocross, and light track use. I kept up with a heavily track prepped mid-90s M3 no problem from a stop last night, and thanks to the 86 chassis combined with the ESC I was able to have comparable lap times with my friend's 2005 Shelby GT500 on a fairly technical course.

It may not be for everyone, but it convinced me very quickly.

Question. The old kits came with the 1.0 dump, then Rob started selling the 1.5 dump kit add on. Will the new kits still only come with the 1.0? or will there be an option to purchase the kit with the 1.5 (or stage 2 if we are gonna call it that), and would there be any price difference between stage 1 + upgrade vs stage 2?

Standard kit comes with the 1.0 mounting hardware. If you elect for the 1.5 kit rob will add the extra hardware required to wire and secure everything.

There will be no difference in price other than if you don't get the 1.5 off the bat there will be another shipping charge.

thanks for the info, but that kind of sucks. You replace some of the mounting hardware from the 1.0 with the 1.5, so you will be buying hardware you will never use, and Rob will be manufacturing and providing unnecessary parts.

From a manufacturing standpoint, it will cost less in materials and labor to sell a stage 2 kit absent the unnecessary 1.0 hardware. From a customer standpoint, it is more appealing for someone planning to go stage 2 from the start to get a discount for purchasing stage 2 outright minus the 1.0 mounting hardware vs paying full price for the stage 1 kit + full price for the 1.5 upgrade, then throwing the 1.0 stuff in the trash.

You reuse the 1.0 stuff in the 1.5 conversion kit so basically nothing gets thrown out.

Oh ok, I thought that top block was too short to cover the added width of the .5 pack. I'll have to look back at some of the installed pics

Phantom ESC 1.5x e85 vs Innovative Stg. 1

Phantom ESC 1.5x e95 vs Innovative Stg. 1 (non-intercooled).
This is a similar comparison to @fenton 's of the Phantom ESC v. Vortech OFT300.

IMO Innovative Stg.1 is the best comparison due to cost of Supercharger kits for '86. Although, if you already own an OFT & OFH, then the OFT300 Vortech kit is a no-brainer for those looking for full-time F.I. Great job @Shiv@Openflash

With that being said, currently the Innovative Stg.1 is the least expensive "traditional" supercharger. $3700 incl. tune + est $500 - $1000 installation, total of $4200 -$4700. An experienced mechanic could probably self-install to save cash in about 8 hours. If you want to run e85 here, add another $700 -$1000 for flex fuel kit and e85 tune.

The Phantom ESC with 1.5 dump upgrade and OpenFlash e85 tune will run roughly $2600 + $0 for an easy 2 hr. self-installation, total of still $2600. And you can remove it for dealer visits. Good god thanks @Robftss

The dynos
This isn't a cherry picked Innovative Stg.1 setup I'm referencing. This as it was a generous representation of what many Innovative Stg.1 owners were getting out of the box. This is a great car, great kit, and great owner. Keep in mind , many running Innovative Stg. 1 ended up with lower WHP/WTQ numbers.

This is NOT A SCIENTIFIC COMPARISON. Merely a quick snapshot of numbers we're seen in some supercharger kits on the board. Keep in mind, once again, this isn't an individual custom tune for the Phantom ESC and Shiv's shop car. The tune was developed to be a SAFE Off-the-shelf offering for many cars. The tune on the Innovative car could have any amount of customization for it. I won't speak to it because I have no data.
