you could try asking support for a pinout of the harness to see what should go where and compare it with what you have. because maybe your wires got swapped somehow?

How does this get navigation and internet to run pandora? Does this unit have to be tethered to your cell phone?

For an extra $40 or 50, you can get a combination Wi-Fi/Cellular dongle instead of the normal Wi-Fi only dongle, that will allow the unit to connect directly to a cellular network for data access (you'll still need to sign up for service on that dongle, though). Otherwise, it needs a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot of some sort (either a dedicated mobile hotspot or a phone running in hotspot mode).

I asked them and they said everything should be normal. It should've been a plug and play setup.

well should have been, yes, but if somehow when your harness got made and the wires got swapped... i think i read somewhere in this thread that something similar happened with the harness and they(the company) had to send out an e-mail to all the people that bought it explaining to swap the wires. i think it was related to the ipod connector. so maybe a mistake was still made?

if you swap your stock stereo back then at least for sure you can eliminate the speakers and car harness from the equation right? and while you have it out then you could check the ca-fi harness. compare the pinout with what the pinout of the cars harness is supposed to be to make sure that left and right match up correctly. it's a lot of work, but it's better(to me) than waiting for a solution to pop up.

Also I'm reading the BRZ has a different wiring than the FR-S...might be why it's messed up, I got the wrong wiring harness...

The Dashlinq4 "Toyota Universal" model comes with the same parts no matter which car you have; I hooked it up in my BRZ no problems (well, no wiring problems).

The HU should have a pinout for the main connector on the top of the HU itself--one diagram with the pins shown in the actual layout and numbered, and then a chart with descriptions by those numbers.

Then could the harness be messed up while being made?

like i said with the ipod harness yeah it could be. the wires themselves i'm sure are probably fine, but if they are in the wrong position then that could be causing screwiness.

This issue is less of what level it goes to, and more that I want it to go back to whatever it was last set at.
i just tested mine and my volume didn't change from where it last was. i had it around 10/11 though. i didn't try it at a higher setting.

Yeah, if it's lower, it stays there. If it's higher than 14, it gets kicked back down to 14 when it goes to sleep/wakes up.

So who's rooted it and enjoying the benefits from it?
It was briefly discussed on page 13...
Couple of questions ..
If I root it then mess it up can I just use the sd update folder method to put it all back to normal?
Can the launcher be disabled so it can just start in the android app select screen?

From all I've seen unless you mess with recovery partition you should be good by just hitting reset button with update on sd in case of a meltdown.

They did send out the latest update with CarHome disable. I rather enjoy it.
