Ya I would probably take the rpf1s over this one... Mostly because you don't need a 9" inch wide wheel on this car

For everybody who's skeptical about these wheels, they're huge in the BMW track crowd.

The ones the BMWs appear to be single fitment, not dual drilled.

Not sure why that's an issue. They're from the same manufacturer so they're obviously still quality.

Have you ever seen CCW's race wheels? They have tons of extra holes in them to save weight (not saying that's why they're there in the Apex wheels) and nobody complains about them.

Dual drilled isn't a big deal to me. The fitment part is the +42 offset. I'm sure they are dual drilled to fit other Subarus, including the new WRX which is 5x114.3. Seems like a worthy addition to the available wheels.

More holes = less weight.

and I agree, double fitment to me is a redflag, could be biased, but just how I feel.

also at that price they're no cheaper than RPF1s
They're not a new company, and aren't going away anytime soon. As it's already been said, they're HUGE with the BMW guys.

On a friend's M3:

Personally, I would be happier if these were +35 to +38, gives room for camber adjustment on stock diameter springs without camber plates.

Dual drilled shouldn't be an issue for those who are real track fiends. When I see these wheels, I look at the fitment, and the weight first, both of which are spot on. Next I look at the style of wheel, in which this wheel, absolutely gorgeous.

As mentioned before they have a huge BMW following specific to those guys who like going to track events and autocross, and now they've produced a wheel for this market. Should be a perfect marriage for a light strong track wheel to a car that obviously is tracked a lot and used on autocross a lot as well.

I did some googling and couldn't find a single complaint about wheels that came from the manufacturer dual drilled. The only complaints I heard about these wheels were a couple people talking about vibrations. That was after a lot of searching.

Why take these over RPF1, other than style?
How much camber can I get on stock suspension before they rub?
What tire widths do you recommend with them? Lots of people are stretching, including luminaries like Robispec.

245/40 on a 9" wheel should be good...

You'll get more camber than a +45, but less than a +35 Based on what I've seen with my own wheels (17x8 +45), you'll be lucky to get -1* before it gets really close to the spring perch. I've got -2*, but my wheels are an inch narrower.

CCWs are also machined from forged ingots, not cast.

Are you implying that their strength is compromised by being dual drilled?

If anything, he's saying that they're stronger because they're machined from a forged block instead of being cast.

No one else see that they look just like the 22b STI wheels. I would almost murder for an original set of 22b wheels.... if only these came in gold and were single drilled....
