Replacing Scion FR-S start up screen

Hello All!

I saw a thread recently about replacing the Subaru BRZ in-dash sat nav start up screen with a custom image. I wanted to know - has anybody found a way to do this in an FR-S Monogram?

DNN990HD does everything but a lap dance for you.

Or.... Look into a nexus tablet like many have done.

Lol. One reason I wish I was older than I am...~1k on a headunit? I think thats gonna go on the pipedream list :P

Nexus tablet is a great suggestion, but I want to be able to return to stock easy, so I am realllllly trying to avoid any mods with cutting/drilling/welding/plasma torching/C4ing/sledgehammering. And, I just can't bear to cut this beautiful car up.

No. From what I have gathered, the difference between the BRZ and FRS unit in this respect is that the BRZ has a MicroSD card slot and the FRS obviously does not. That is how BRZ owners are able to get the images onto the unit in the first place, and the unit consequently has a setting to use those images.

On the topic of aftermarket units, I would consider it if you want more customization. The stock unit has a very low amount of customization settings, which is disappointing... I personally am considering an Android based unit.
