Hey Michele, make sure to let your contact at WedsSport know that their sponsorship of you bears fruit. I picked these largely as a result of your recommendation and usage on the track. They look great on yoru car and for me should make a great dual duty (street & track) wheel.

WedsSport SA-10R - 18x8.5 et 45 8.8kg.

I found these quotes on your site:

Quote:
Words absolutley cannot describe the feeling right now, our FR-S ran AMAZING all weekend, @m1cheleabbate killed it behind the wheel and found 15 SECONDS on track, couldnt be happier. We even won two awards ! Huge thank you to everyone that made this possible, our friends family and sponsors !!! #M1chele #ustcc #teamunstoppable #nextlevelshit #legionofboom #timeforbattle

With rapid lap time improvements after each session on track, Abbate qualified P9 and finished P7 in the race out of 10. Crew Chief Mike stated, “Any time you finish higher than you qualify is a major achievement”. Philleo agreed while mentioning, “…it has been a year of emotions and this was a very satisfying result for the weekend. We have some work to do before the next one, but with more power and a little less weight we will be running up front”.
How do you find 15 seconds on track? What lap times were you running at the start? What two awards did you win? Found the results:

I didn't quote the 15 seconds statement, that was actually made by the director of the series, Ali Arsham. I am assuming they took the 15 seconds from my very first practice lap on track, to my fastest lap. I have never been to Laguna Seca before, so obviously, there is a lot to learn on a new track. I too was surprised to hear that we lost that much time. I had actually set a personal goal to run a 1:47 lap time, in relation to the spec miata track record. There is still more time to be hacked off that time, but truthfully satisfied with nailing my personal goal. It was a great feeling of success for me and my team.

We won the "best improvement" award, which earned us a SPC Performance camber/caster alignment tool. and we also were congratulated as a new team with the Race Ramps award, which is a gift certificate for a set of race ramps.

Here is the link to my press release

Cool. I was looking up lap times at the track and that 1:47 is between the NASA TTF and TTE lap record at Laguna Seca made last year:

http://www.nasa-tt.com/Socal_Track_Records

TTE 93 Emilio Cervantes 2004 Mazda Miata 1:44.131 7/6/13
TTF 81 Walter Carlos 73 Mazda RX-7 1:54.706 7/6/13

I also found this cool video of the race winning GT Class Honda S2000:

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLfUCn7pJ0Q"]062914 USTCC - YouTube[/ame]

You can see your car on lap 11 which was his fastest lap of the race at around the 12:45 mark in the video. It looks like you guys were out there in a NASA GTS race with all those BMWs out on track. Any chance you have some in car video you will be posting?

you got it. Yes we have all kinds of in car, from our Midland XTC 400 cameras. We will be putting together a highlight video for the race weekend. It is currently being edited. I would say due to my inexperience on leguna seca there is probably 3 more seconds that could be found out there with my car on the setup it has. But with less than an hour of track time, it will take more practice to nail it

This was not a NASA event, the BMWs on track is the BMW club that was also racing with us on track for the competent motorsports event, along with the Pirelli GT3 cup series.

USTCC also posts all its races online with final drive tv. but it takes a few weeks for them to edit the episodes.

@MicheleAbbate

I can see why you talked about continuing to drop weight. Still, you had grip all over that Mazda and have a lot of room to dial the car in. Very encouraging. Fun shit.

haha yeah. he had way more hp than us, which were also hoping to change. we have room for about 30 more hp, if we maintain the same weight. Planning on dropping 100lbs or so, and gain 25-ish hp. Next race will be awesome.

Thanks for the support!

I won't poo on the fact you guys are working hard, and at least on this platform one of the few doing wheel to wheel. Seem like your facing an uphill battle here do you see this car being competitive enough to get you near the top of class consistently?
