Meh, I'm feeling sympathetic.

The best way to get over somebody is to get under somebody else.

She doesn't sound like a jerk and you sound kind of pathetic she isn't attracted to you, oh well, that's life.

All this analysis and phrases and terms and x and y and friend-zone and alpha male and bad boy and 'girls in their 20s' is bullshit. Y'all are judging a person based off of a text messages and OP's biased description of events get your heads on straight and stop trying to apply theories to life. Be a good person and do your best to surround yourself with good people that's all you can do, some days you do better than others, some days suck, it's what we all deal with.

OP, to get over your feelings gently pull away, don't be awkward or abrupt or vindictive about it, continue being the "nice guy" (since we're not sure if you're an actual nice guy, fake it until you make it) and talk to her as much as you can stand without stirring up feelings. Don't hold out hope, move on as best you can find somebody else interesting and when feelings fade for this person try being a friend again, even if it's not scientifically true I like to think you catch more flies with honey.
