I have a cheap-o ebay exhaust (j2 engineering dual) and love it. Fitment was only complaint; fixed it with proper hangers.
in combination with OFH it sounds incredible [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKx_yEStvXg"]FR-S BRZ OpenFlash UEL Catless Header - YouTube[/ame]

yet quiet enough for cruising with no drone. Well made and great looking too.. Almost a shame to have to hide it under the car. Easy install and good fit.. Dont know about the other muffler sizes.. the 5" setup is aggressive enough to add to the sports car character without making it too "arrogant". Well made system.. but order weeks in advance before you actually want it.. ! |

just a phrase I've *mostly* lived by "If you can't afford to do it right, how can you afford to do it twice"
Get something quality, used exhausts come up a lot in the classified section. Absolutely nothing wrong with saving a few dollars, buying a quality used part

Technically, yes.. to some extent. Look up the magnuson moss act for some additional insight. Can't remember how much it cost exactly, somewhere near 600 bucks

Or get the single delete for $140. And a delete cover for the other side for $60. (Or both free in my case since they were birthday presents).

OFT is $500 at any reputable dealer. Anyone who uses ECUTek will tell you the OFT is a waste, it's garbage, it's only canned tunes...Almost none of which is true (there are some things that the OFT cannot do at the current time - for example, rev matched down shifting).

Since I don't plan on doing any other exhaust mods, would you recommend I just get the 4" muffler option for something not drony at cruising rpms but screams above 4k rpm?

Can't comment on the differences between the four-inch and the 5 inch mufflers. I can tell you that I am totally satisfied with the sound with the 5 inch configuration. It's not of obnoxious when driving normally yet the tone is deeper and more throaty. It gets loud when you put your foot in it under load during WOT. I personally think the 5 inch muffler configuration is all anybody needs for a sporty sound without being too loud and it's drone free.. The rest of my exhaust system is stock.
