starting out

Hello all

I'm a proud new owner of a 2014 frs and I've been casually looking into catback exhausts and I've ran across a titanium tip cat back by spec-d for $426.42 which compared to others is really cheap and I was wondering if anyone has ran this system or used spec-d parts in the past and if so what's the quality like in comparison to the price ?

Not many good things to say about them in a cursory look at this thread:

If you're on a budget and just looking for a more aggressive tone and bigger exhaust tips, then get the Berk Technology muffler delete for $300. It was my first mod on my car and I absolutely love it.

If you buy a cheap exhaust...just know that it MIGHT have fitment issues. Which means...you're gonna spend more money to get a shop to align it for you properly....which means more money.

It MIGHT save you SOME money...but I'd rather do it right the first time.

Never cheap out on a car, just take longer to save up for something of quality.
If you buy cheap parts, your car is most likely going to look cheap, and it's going to be noticeable.

For a few bucks more, I'd look into the Flowmaster kit. It's one of the cheaper setups out there (around $500), and sounds nice in all of the clips that I've seen.

Spend a bit more and get a quality system like the Nameless axleback system..
You won't regret it. You'll also have better resale value when you sell it and will be less expensive in the long run.. Not to mention the quality sound you get.

I plan on getting this. Do you believe the 4" muffler option is a good choice for daily driving? I don't plan on adding any other exhaust mods

Not only that, cheap parts make a car sound cheap (from tinny exhausts to headers with crappy welds and thin flanges, leading to exhaust leaks), and the cheap, ebay-type parts are less likely to have any significant r&d behind them, meaning a greater chance for cels and/or premature failure of a component...

The invidia kits are only around $550 or so and they are quality.
