As far as problems with heat goes,
The other day I started my car and it said the outside temp was 112 degrees! Pretty hot!
I had no problems with the ESC whatsoever. And I have a completely "stock" install. No extra fans or ducts or anything. I think you would have to run this thing extremely hard to have any problems with it. (Racetrack)

There is a special electrical tape that is orange that Rob used on my 3 motor to controller connections. Mine kept disconnecting due to high current.

I had a early revision of the battery hold down where the posts wouldn't stay tightened down.....one of those things that everyone else gets to benefit from me being the first tester..... Called rob in a panic "car won't start".... He politely asked me to check the terminal connections....2 minutes later I was on the road again

Do you have a brand name for this tape? Of the three connections, my black is loose and slips off easily. Duct tape is holding it in place currently.

Disconnect the black connector. Grab a crimp tool (or a set of plyers) and slightly crimp the female connector (the outer one). This will tighten the connection AND reduce the chance of arcing. Arcing will lead to corrosion at the connector and eventual failure. All of the tape in the world wont prevent this from happening if you have a loose connector.

I second the crimping. In the case you want tape to be extra certain, I would imagine standard Scotch or Duck electrical tape should do the trick as long as heat ratings are good enough.

There are a couple of similar brands of silicone tape and they are all "self fusing" so they seal extremely well and just about permanently.

Done. Nice and snug, now. Thanks for the tip!

Tires: Dunlop Direzza DZ102 (also new for 2014!)

Had @F-T remove some frozen lugs, studs, and add header. I think I'm roughly -1.2" F/ -1.2"R. Need to measure the drop. I think I should go down about another 1/4" F & R. The header was an OEM header that I made "special" with the info from @NickFRS. My butt dyno confirms his findings which is the stock header is a fine ELH after the upgrade. The Phantom ESC + beefed up suspension and stickier tires feel very well matched. Thanks again for the powah @Robftss .

Needs a tad more low and the front splitter is being fabbed but took a few not so glamorous shots anyhow.

I've been in Yosemite for 5 days with no internet. Sorry it took so long to respond but that looks bad ass.
