I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like under the dash, but I don't think glue or tape would've fixed mine. The padding under my dash looks physically damaged to the point where the front chunk has broken off from the rest of the padding, so it's no longer held securely to the rest of the dash.
Good luck fixing it on your own! Just so you know the dealership can get it done same day as long as you drop it off at around 8am.

I'm also having this problem, the car is 18 months old, and it's as hot as Texas here, that's for sure.

Just got my car back. Everything looks great. Only problem is for some reason my reverse camera isn't working. They probably forgot to plug in a wire. Gonna take it back to them now and see if they can fix it real quick.
EDIT: Just noticed something else. My head unit has vertical scratch about an inch long. Gonna bring that to their attention when I get there. ![]() EDIT 2: Subaru reconnected my reverse camera. It's working normally again. They are going to speak to the senior advisor or something about the scratch on my head unit. They said that after the dash was installed the head unit was okay, but they're not blaming it on me. They think something happened while the vehicle was being cleaned/prepped after the work was finished. Anyways, it seems like they are taking full responsibility for it and will contact me tomorrow about what they can offer me. EDIT 3: I found more issues on the dome cover above the cluster gauges. It looks like somebody stuck a screwdriver in the cracks to try to pry it off. I'm going to leave my car with subaru so they can take a look at it again and take the loaner car. I guess this is why everyone is hesitant to get work done at the dealership...

Day 1 update: Tape is holding fine. Dash didn't move today despite the high heat/humidity.

If mine does not get worse. Which it hasn't and it is not even bad at all. I will not let them touch my car. Once my warranty is up and free oil changes are done. I am done with them. Dealerships suck no matter what. There are some exceptions. I see the guys that work in the back and they could give a shit less about your car.

EDIT 4: Dealership is going to order me a replacement Head Unit as well as the dome cover that goes above the gauges. Parts should arrive by Friday, but they said at latest the new parts will arrive on Monday and I'll have my car back Monday afternoon. I'm very happy they're taking full responsibility for the minor damages done to the interior. I just hope I get my car back with no other issues.

Hasn't happened to me yet (knock on wood), but if it does, I'm going to look for any other solution other than the dealer. I don't even use a sun shade.
I just have Aerospace 303 on the dash.

I have an appointment with a local Subaru dealer to show my dash to a Subaru rep. I'm also hesitant for damage if they replace the entire dash, but I also want this to be fixed.
Just by looking at the employees in the shop of the dealer, they are working on brand new cars every day, feels like they don't really care about cars. I saw a brand new XV entering the shop at the speed of sound, full throttle, putting the car in park when it's still moving a lot and removing the white plastic wrap carelessly, quickly pulling hard on it, like if this was on the back of a fridge, that he'll never see again, and he wants this to be done as quickly as possible. I don't want these guys to take my dash apart. |

After some superglue failure, decided to try some epoxy, seems to hold so far, will report back. Nice thing about epoxy is that it fills the gaps nicely - I can tell that my white rubber layer has split on itself so vhb was out of the question for me.

I forgot to update this after I got all of my work completed from the dealership. The dealership replaced my dome gauge cover and replaced my NAV unit after they damaged those parts while replacing my dash. Now everything looks as good as new. The dash looks so much better and appears to be holding strong.
Even though I had some issues with them scratching my NAV screen, I'd still recommend getting this work done at a dealership.
