It was a hot day today so I hope you guys stayed cool. Should've left you guys the water I brought. Saturday was a lot of fun but one day was enough for me. Although, now I kinda of wish I went up there to catch Buzz's spin on camera :P

PS: I meant to get the Caterham driver's contact info so I could forward some pictures his way. Think his name was Bob or Bill. If anyone knows him or see's him in the future, let him know or grab an e-mail address for me.

Nice stories everyone. Sounded like a fun weekend (or weekday).

Remember to hit up LPI Racing, Mann Eng, and CSG to quench your racecar's thirst (especially after this weekend). They are working with us thru the season for any 86Cup participants. If you're not participating in the 86Cup, it doesn't hurt to mention 86Cup anyways.

Well, for the last part, I was one of the six. However, in my defense, I showed Luc the video of my 360 off-road excursion and he was cool with me and just said that I needed to lower the pressure in my rear tires. I was coming out of turn 2 too hot and spun at almost 70 mph.

Now my car is covered in dust and dirt, inside and out So, afterwards I lowered the rear pressures to 32 and checked the fronts to keep them at 34. However, it seems that a piece dirt in the valve stem of the front right because it went flat. So, I ran the whole second second with a flat front right and still managed to get a 2:23. Afterwards, I checked the tire for damage and filled it back up and it stayed at pressure for the rest of the day with no issues.

Many thanks to @ddeflyer for the ride-alongs and the great tips and pointers. It helped tremendously.

My stock brakes are toast so I need to get some track pads before the next track day.

With that said, who all is going to the Thunderschliefe run on July 11?
Glad I could help, and you really picked up what I was saying fast! Also, your E85 tune was awesome, making me jealous

I won't be there on the 11th, as that is the weekend that I am going to auto club speedway. I will be doing the five miles again on the 25th though if anyone is going to that.

I took care of the water issue with a trip to Walmart Saturday night; got a flat of water and another of sugar free Powerade (so it didn't make us even thirstier).

So consulting my handy 86DRIVE events calendar... the next 86CUP event will be another 2-day event at Thunderhill, Aug 2-3... so looks like we have a little time off. That's good for me, as I will probably need a new set of tires by the next event. Whatever little tread I have left will probably be scrubbed off on a few Summer DRIVES.

That is a long time between events! What other events are people planning on doing in the mean time?

Whew.. what an exhausting weekend! Thanks for riding with me and giving pointers, @ddeflyer, @PMok, Ying, and @RehabJeff86. It really helped me see where I can pick up speed and find the quickest way through the corners. I've learned a tremendous amount this weekend, and only look forward to more HPDEs. Though... no more for me until I have that oil cooler. Needing to back off after seeing 300º oil temps is not fun.

It was nice seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones as well!

And @Pwolf, thanks for the pics!

Just to keep this thread on topic about 86CUP events, I've bumped up the other HPDE/Track Day thread ... everyone please discuss what other events you plan on doing, over in that thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...53#post1823253

Me personally I will probably take the month off ... the heat of July is hard on cars and people. I will perhaps return for the Aug 2 event, though that is still pretty close to July.

Oops, I think you wanted a ride in my car too... We'll do it next time when I have that oil cooler, then I can go all out.

It was fun doing battle with you this weekend. I was in the Black brz #721. Hopefully you get the oil temps fixed next time so I can chase at your best!

I have an Android head unit with Torque Pro running full time. I think some are monitoring via the OFT or a standalone logging system.
