There's not just one "right" way to drive all the time. I'm usually at 9 and 3 for spirited driving, but any other time I do whatever is comfortable, including a variation of the farmer position in which only my thumb and index finger are touching the outside of the wheel.

i think paddle shifters are located in their position for a reason. 9 & 3 for me usually. but boredom can result in a combo of 1-12 and sometimes the palming of the horn style.

So true. I rest my thumbs exactly there and it's perfect. First two fingers on the paddle shifters, lol.

From a retired formula car driver, I will say that 10 and 2 is the only safe way to drive. Your steering wheel is set up to be held that way, and you have the best control. For those of you who like to hold it at 12, I'll see you on the side of the road, like that fellow that hit the tree.

9 and 3 or 10 and 2. However you see the wheel set up. That's the proper way.

If you are driving and worried you are going to doze off, try this:
Put one end of a rubber band in your mouth, and stretch it and hold the other end with your hand on the wheel.

If you begin to doze off, you will let go and snap yourself in the face.
Which coincidentally works really well at giving you an adrenaline rush

A guy and a gal are sitting at a Bar talking when the man's penis reaches up from under the table and grabs a handful of peanuts and pulls it under the table.

Of course this surprises the woman, so she asks "What the heck was that".
The man explains that he has just had an experimental surgery done for Erectile Dysfunction where they take muscles from an elephant's trunk and graft it into the penis. He is the first to try the experimental procedure.

WOW! shes says "That is amazing! Can you do it again"
The mans says "Probably.... But I'm not sure my ass can stand another handfull of peanuts!"

This is a great video showing good seating and hand positions. I recently took a drivers training class where they also taught me to have my hands around the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. It allows you rotate the wheel almost a full 180 without having to remove your hands from steering wheel.
