Fun Red Light Story...

I usually just get 'race ready,' let the other guy that challenged me know it's on, then let them peel out when it turns green as I nonchalantly putt my way down the ave.

But then again, I enjoy trolling on the internet, so trolling in real life is fun for me.

I usually do the same thing. Just have them rev all they want, then when the light turn a green, have them take off and do their stupid thing while I'm just cruising.

Plus, it saves me from the cops.

The other night a young guy in a Mercedes convertible was doing 30 in a 45 as I came up on him and he then floored it when I got next to him. Not AMG, but damn it was fast. We met at the next light, both 1st in line.. and he goes.. "I LOVE that car. I thought it was some exotic with those lights." I just have 6000k hids and valentis, but the headlights are so low it looks cool at night

He revved and said "Can I video tape this?" and I went "Sure but I won't race, I have Ohio plates in Michigan." And he went "good call good call".. then turned left at the next light

If he wasn't as young as me I would've called that entrapment or something

That was the only time I've had someone try to race since I've owned the car though. Most people are pretty courteous and compliment the car, which is pretty flattering.

Nice story OP, sure made me chuckle.

There is a guy in my town with a red Genesis Coupe equipped with a Greddy exhaust that always tries to race me at the lights. Only problem is that I am always in the turning lane and he wants to sit there and rev his engine like a tool lamo! I feel he thinks that because I have a red BRZ I am obligated to race him or something...

The charger driver is probably laughing and watch the little japanese car trying to do street racing and waiting to get in trouble with police.

I had something similar happen a few years back when I drove a Mustang. A guy in a supercharged Mustang wanted to race me, and when the light went green he nailed the gas and dumped the clutch....last thing I saw in my rear view mirror was the guy pitched sideways in the intersection with smoke pouring off his rear wheels. C'est la vie.

It seems to me that people that don't know a ton about the BRZ assume its fast when they look at it, and sometimes, at red lights that can lead to evil eyes and engine revving...

This happened to me yesterday. A kid in a Charger with a hemi pulled up next to me, looked my car up, then revved his engine loudly and looked me in the eye. I laughed, knowing there was not too much of a chance of me beating him. Just the same, I nodded. No one had really challenged me like that yet, and i figured if I did by some miracle beat him to the next light, I could laugh my ass off at him.

So there I sat, girlfriend next to me telling me not to be stupid, me ignoring her, and listening to this tool in a V-8 revving his engine in anticipation of racing my little 4-banger. I couldn't help but laugh.

Then the light turned green. I laid only a little rubber and got a great jump. I was already in 4th gear when I realized he wasn't ahead of or next to me... as he had stalled the car at the light. Never saw him again after that, as I was getting on the highway at the next turn.

My car is 1-0 in drag races. And I don't care if it's a technicality, it beat a freaking hemi V-8. Anyone else have fun stories like that?

Okay, so I don't think what you did was wrong by any means but there are some fallacies in your story. You said you were going 47, when shifting into 4th is more like 80mph
