Usually if there is water only on the passenger side, it's usually the drain tube. Either clogged or have worked its way up inside the car. This happens with a lot of cars.

Didn't know it was a problem with this car. So if water doesn't come in with hood closed I should resist paying dealership

It's a problem with many cars. I had it happen with a Camry.

Check out this thread, you can see the tube pretty clearly in the picture.

For anyone interested it appears water DID come in where amp cable is ran. AC drain was loose and pointing at carpet but they said they did that while troubleshooting. Make sure you silicone up your grommets. Enough rain and water can build up.

When water gets on wires, it will follow the wire downhill, and unless you've used some silicone sealant, it will get through. I've seen it many times. Glad your issue was resolved.

did you find out how the water was getting on the cable? It looks like your cable slopes down almost immediately after going through the grommet, which is recessed under the cowl panel or whatever it is called. Is the water coming down off the windshield and running down the firewall?
I ask, because I don't have the grommet sealed to the firewall, and would like to prevent any water intrusion.
